I'm conflicted with having players gain extra feats and abilities during the course of a long campaign.
A Bonus Feat at the beginning of each new book in an Adventure Path or a special minor ability earned passed a pivotal plot or geographic location.
While it rewards players for their survival it can make character fatigue more prevalent in that when they do die they opportunity cost in coming with a new character becomes larger and larger.
For example: Lets say you earned 2 bonus feats with your character, but die. If you decide to come with a new character you would be short 2 feats, but if you rez, you'll just have the temporary negative levels until you are restored but down 5,000 gp.
Later its 4 feats and some other extraordinary abilities.
Why bring in a new character concept, especially if you are tried with the original one (or found out you built the character wrong)?
