So the wife finally decided to give Pathfinder a try. However, we are currently about 6 games into a huge Ptolus/ Iron Kingdoms campaign I am running. (I merged the Iron Kingdoms Tech with the Ptolus city)
Everyone is cool with adapting Characters to Pathfinder, and the Societies, but I haven't even had a chance to start the actual Ptolus city conversions. And I haven't even pondered the Iron Kingdoms conversion for 'Jacks and Firearms)
It looks like 75% of it will be cake, just NPC's and shops and item pricing, but the other portions might be tricky.
So I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me.

One and only bump i will do on this..
thanks for any help folks can toss my way
Firearms will be covered in Ultimate Combat together with Gunslinger class, I think.
A few people tried Gun Mage conversion: Here is one of the topics about Gun Mage conversion'Jacks should be reviewed with the help of Monster Creation rules to estimate their new CR and type traits. You might want to design ('jack) subtype for Constructs to represent steam-powered, cortex-controled constructs.
Important Note: In Pathfinder Constructs and corporeal Undeads do not gain immunity to extra damage from critical hits and sneak attacks so it changes combat against them a bit.

Ultimate Magic has expanded rules for construct creation that I think could be very useful for constructing steamjacks.
I would also recommend you check out the Rhune setting here for ideas. It blends Norse mythology with steampunk and is using Pathfinder rules.
Maybe you could place Ptolus in place of the city of Absalom. Absalom even has the spire of Nex outside the city. Perhaps you could even merge the two cities somehow, keeping both side by side and treat them both as a single city somehow. You could also try using it in place of the city of Quantium in the nation of Nex. You would probably have to change some things about the city such as it being in a more temperate/sub-tropical climate instad of a northern temperate one and the old empire politics in and around Ptolus could instead emphasize Taldoran politics and influence.
If you feel Ptolus must be a northern city, then I would go with using it to replace Winterbreak on the island in the Lake of Mists and Veils in northern Brevoy. Other good options might be to use it as your Riddleport or Korvosa. Personally, I think it might fit best as Korvosa and merge some of the Korvosa aspects with Ptolus and use whichever name you prefer to call it by.
I would be interested in running a game like what you describe as well some day. I have Ptolus and Iron Kingdoms and want to use them, but I would like to do that with the Pathfinder rules and maybe even run it all in Golarion somehow. I think it would take a lot of work, though. I will be watching this thread for other ideas.
