Do the subject feats from "Halflings of Golarion" work with a halfling staff sling? reading the description of halfling staff sling in the Core rulebook, the reloading rules appear the same as the regular sling. Should these two feats also apply to it then?

Sovereign Court

i won't give up

Sovereign Court

it's like i'm on a desert island, with an endless supply of paper, ink and empty bottles... i will keep throwing those at the receding tide every day until I see a chopper or a sailboat coming my way... :)

EDIT: ....'cause I got a baby halfling staff slinger character sheet at home that's crying to see his daddy again... :P

Shouldn't you be bugging your DM for a table ruling, rather than annoying the world at large?

Sovereign Court

Campaign hasn't started; just trying to plan my halfling ftr feat progression. I'm sorry if this annoyed you. Since you checked the thread anyway, and since you are surely monitoring it now: care to provide your expert opinion on the question? :)

My expert opinion is "yes."

But I haven't actually looked at the weapon or the feats for awhile.

If it loads like a sling, functions like a sling, and so on, then I don't see why quick sling loading feats wouldn't apply.

In short, I'd allow it in my game.

In my game you would need 2 weapon fighting to use this set of feats to lob 2 or more bullets a round.

I would agree with you for the double sling, a new weapon described in "Halflings of Golarion", but the good old Halfling Staff Sling, described in the Core book, is what I am talking about here. The Core rules clearly say that you can swing a halfling staff sling one handed.

Shadow Lodge

More or less GMs call unless some errata comes out. is it generic "sling" as in any "sling" weapon, or is it specifically the "sling".

I lean towards the more generic interpretation myself and in a similar post sounded like most people were ok with some dissent.

Of course it works with the slingstaff! As far as i remember it states that somewhere actually or at least somewhere in the chapter there are statements that hint to that. Anyway, you can use it on a doublesling or sure and if that functions, its possible or the slingstaff.
The thing is slingstaff is a martial weapon for halflings, so not all classes are proficient with it.

Furthermore, if you don´t plan to go into melee, the warslinger racial trait is enough to load it free and fast.

Sovereign Court

My GM agrees with you both and that's how we will treat ammo drop / juggle load in our games... (i.e. works on staff slings)

That's all that matters.

It makes a lot of sense, essentially makes it comparable to a composite longbow but for halflings.

Sovereign Court

his words exactly... two feat tax to essentially get the same as a comp longbow is big enough a price already...

It does not because if it did that would make taking Slipslinger Style feat (which lets you treat any weapon with sling in its name as a sling) pointless. That being said Slipslinger Style is in a way better sense for about the same price you get the same result with an additional +2 attack bonus (+1 from wep prof and +1 from Slipslinger Style). I said about the same price because you need to have taken the Warslinger racial trait to get it (so 2 feats and 1 racial trait). That being said it makes any skill/feat that uses a sling work with the sling staff and the racial trait required to take it replaces Sure Footed which is 1 of the least useful racial traits imo (so you are not missing much). I personally would have preferred to use ammo drop + juggle load because I originally wanted to take Secretive Survivor as my racial trait to replace sure-footed but the GM I play with won't allow them to work with sling staff.
