Will we see the plague of Tharizdun reach out across the multiverse to these shores, or shall Golarion journey on without notice (like mystara)?
Given Tharizdun is actually a bastardization of three very old words: Thyr-rei-dhuno which means 'the debt collector is comming to take posession', it should give you some idea of what this means.

Since Tharizdun is the product identity of Wizards of the Coast, and thus we're not allowed to use that character in any product we create... his plague (or whatever he might be up to these days... I'm not sure since despite him being one of my all-time favorite D&D creations I haven't kept up on his activities since the launch of 4th edition) will not be part of Golarion at all.
Unless you want to say otherwise in your home game, but there's not much I can offer you in advice there.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but a metaplot by a different company, with a different IP, in a different game system, is unlikely to be available let alone used. Even if it were available, i HIGHLY doubt it would be used.

Except that they dont own the rights to the name or the source as its origins are historical.
Thyr-rei-dhuno was literally a warning screamed by little old village ladies that the debt collector is comming.

The name isn't historical. It first appeared in some 1E module.

They admit that its origins for them comes from Thasaidon from the dark eidelon by ashton clark smith. That was followed up with two name changes...til you get the current one, but they dont own the historical sources from which the name and concept is drawn.
Thyr - rei - dhuno

Of course you can create something similar and name it similarly, sit there and pray that you won't be hit by a lawsuit which can bankrupt you before even the judge gets to say "hello". (remember, it's the US legal system. Lawsuits are lethal.)
Paizo have stated several times that they have no intention of sidestepping WotC IP and populating Golarion with Brain Suckers (Urleetheds), Observator Orbs, Yathginki and other poor quality substitutes :)
