Pretty much I'm thinking about trying out a clerical style gish build using a Witch (hedge witch archetype) with the Strength Patron and going into Eldritch Knight. I'm unclear if the witch automatically gets those patron spells added to her list, or if it's ONLY while advancing in the Witch class specifically.
Anyone care to clarify?

This has been asked before in regards to sorcerers and there bloodline spells. If I recall correctly, the common consensus was no, they didn't. Bonus spells are considered another class ability separate from spells. As such they are not normally given by prestige classes. I see no reason why it would be any different for witches.

Serious bummer.

Still better than a wizard. If a wizard takes prestige class levels, he does NOT earn his two free spells known each level since they are part of the Spellbook class feature and not his Spellcasting class feature. He has to buy them.

It is even more clear-cut for witches as they are not spontaneous casters and thus get no additional spells known.
As a reminder, the exact text for gaining spells as an EK is that you gain "additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting".

Right, Witches lose out on Patron Spells being added to their Familiar.
BTW, it´s inaccurate to say Witches or Wizards don´t get to add the spells to their spellbook/familiar solely because of which Class Feature they are part of... They don´t get to add them because Patron Spells isn´t part of the ´core´ Spellcasting advancement AND Patron Spells don´t fit in the list of exceptions (which you gain as if advancing in the class, irrespective of what class ability they come from): "additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting"
So to clarify, Sorcerors DO gain Bloodline Spells because of the line:
´(you gain...) spells known (if he is a spontaneous caster)´.
I´m not sure what happens to Witches in Ultimate Magic, but IF they have any Archetypes that grant bonus slots, like Wizard School Specialists gain, THOSE would be gained/advanced by a PrC, due to the langauge ´(you gain...) additional spells per day´. Also, if they made a Spontaneous Casting Witch Archetype that gained Patron Spells as Bonus Spells Known, that would also be gained by a PrC, same as any other Spontaneous Caster.

I see. I just got confused with the fact that the Patron Spells are automatically known to the witch when she comes to a certain level, which sounds an awful lot like how spontaneous casters function. However, I can totally see the logic behind the fact that it is a class feature that is not advanced with PrCs.
I'm still confused on bloodline spells. And wizards not getting to add two spells to their spellbook is just plain ridiculous, even if it's RAW. That's gonna get houseruled simply because otherwise it totally screws over any wizard player in a PrC who is actively adventuring instead of hopping back to a big city every time he gains a level.
Overall, disappointing. I was really hoping to have a spontaneous healing gish-witch that could also drop down some divine power and righteous might as she leveled in Eldritch Knight. Quickened Divine Favor will have to suffice alongside the normal gish buffs.
