More than one Bardic Performance in a turn?

Rules Questions

I remember finding a thread where one of the designers said it was legit to do more than one Bardic Performance per turn if you can use them faster. For example, if you can start them as a Swift Action, you were allowed to use one as a Swift Action, end it, then use a Move or Standard to use a different one all in the same turn.

Is this true? (I can't find the original thread talking about this tact)

I don’t see why you couldn’t per RAW. Just remember “A bard cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time.”

I think he's looking more along the lines of countersonging without letting his inspire courage lapse, which seems reasonable.

No, I don't think that's what he means. He means activating bard song, then activating another bard song which turns off the first one, all in the same round.

For example, if you are high enough level, you could
.
.
Dirge of Doom as swift action
Cast Slow as a standard action to take advantage of Dirge's de-buff
Begin Inspire Courage (which ends the dirge) as a move action

all in one round.

Exactly, and I remember seeing a thread yesterday where I think James or Jason stated that it was legit to do so. Just can't find it now.

Any other great combos like this with multiple songs and a spell?

Here's another one.

Dirge (makes them shaken)
Fear (run away if they fail, but if they make it they become shaken. Since they are already shaken, they are now frightened and run away for one round anyway)
Inspire courage
