My vote for starting location:
Preferred: Sargava
Close proximity to civilization and wilderness both, with a background ripe with storylines, and would be a little grittier than most of the other campaigns on this board.
Acceptable: Solku in Katapesh
Another good place for a mixture of civilization and wilderness plotlines, as well as the gnoll problem.
Also Acceptable: Absalom
The center of everything, could be a more sea based type of thing, hitting the coasts all around the Inner Sea.

Iron Sailors sounds good, but I feel like It's missing something... Steel Sharks? Water Dogs? Sea Wolves? Might have more later. Will someone tell me how to make characters on the site? I'm having trouble with that. Also, just so I don't have to say so everywhere: I'll be lurking on everyone elses threads... too much free time.
Perception on Lurking Squaddies: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Damn having a low Wis and few skill ranks.

It's under the "My Account" link at the top of the page. You'll have to sign in, and then look for "Messageboard Aliases", and "Create new messageboard Alias".
Choose your Avatar and then fill in the rest with the character information, though noone's posted a blank template that I know of officially. I think I have a blank.. *rummages* Nope. All mine are filled, I just edit the information after copy/pasting.
Feel free to use any of my characters sheets as templates, if you like.

Thanks Me'mori, crunching the numbers now.

Announcing the grand premier of Private Cortland Broadcloak
Tell me if I'm missing anything or if it needs anymore clarification. It's a bit block o' text-ish.

Alright looking at the the classes that might be in the squad I am thinking either Cavalier or Monk. It is up to you guys to pick which you would rather have in the squad. The monk is going to be a monk of the four winds. Or I should make both sheets and you guys look at them and pick which is better up to you guys.
I like Sea Wolves. I do not really care where we start.

I would probably do Monk since we seem to be going for a swashbuckler theme, and mounts could be problematic.

I like having it start in Sargava seems like a good place in need of mercenaries to clean up some baddies. I do not like the Swashbuckling idea though. When I think Swashbuckler I think a pirate or sailor which does not seem like it would fit with Sargava which is a lot of jungle and stuff.

Sargava itself is jungle, but the Shackle Islands are right next door and are full of pirates, many of whom are currently extorting Sargava in return for fighting off the Cheliaxian fleet. Also, the rough colonial style of living that most people in Sargava have isn't too far off from that of the pirates. It doesn't have to be all swashbuckling by any means, but with 3 duelists, something along those lines is fairly inevitable.

Kaavel |

To me Duelists does not mean swashbuckling I think that is where we are differing on it. To mean Duelists are people with rapiers and mostly clean clothes that fight well while swashbuckling more are dirty sailor types. The islands may be there but I doubt that we would bother the pirates. If it is anything like colonial life in our world no they were not anything like pirates they were more like mini-armies waiting for attack.

Darkbiter |

At least one of the duelists has already expressed interest in swashbuckling, and while we aren't likely to attack the pirates head on, chances are pretty good that some interaction with them will occur, especially if our group tries to maintain contact with the other groups, since the water route is the primary connection to the outside world. It may not be the ultimate concern of the group, but I would say that a fair amount of swashbuckling is bound to happen.

Kaavel |

Alright as long as main focus is not swashbuckling. I figured we would interact they are a power that we will most likely have to get on their good side to function at first anyway. Cannot be mercenaries in the guys in power hate you. On to my character anything wrong with him or did I mess up anything?

Ryuko |

So shall we officially be the Sea Wolves? Need at least 4 votes before I'll consider it decided.
Also on the swashbuckling thing, I really mean more just mobile, dextrous fighting and less about the ocean or anything like that. Just putting in my two cents. I have no issue with someone not following that very tentative theme.
And also, officially Sargava? Again 4 votes before I count it. After a few more people post I will put together everyones roles in a convenient list.

Central Time Zone here with most postings in early afternoon and very late night, due to current work schedule.
As for the sea and swashbuckling, the water itself isn't as important as the lifestyle that tends to be created around the water and the fast and loose lifestyle common amongst sailors when no strong authority is able to exert itself on them, as is the case with the post colonial government of Sargava. Sargava is small enough, and unstable enough, even if you never step foot on a boat, or go near the sea, that lifestyle is going to be common throughout, even on the border farthest away from the sea, though it might be called something else with hints of the jungle. Whatever it's called, it amounts to the same thing. I tend to see it from the perspective of the coastal colonies of the Spanish in Florida, Central America, and South America. The spirit behind swashbuckling was present and had to be accounted for even if it was called something different.

Thank you Darkbiter, very eloquently put exactly what I was thinking. Also, is that a vote for Sargava and Sea Wolves?

Ryuko |

I am going to assume that unless we have a massive change in things we are going with the Sea Wolves out of Sargava, meaning our squad makeup is thus:
The Sea Wolves 3rd Squad, 2nd Company
Currently Stationed in Sargava Colony
Corporal Ielorion “Icy” Valorious Half-elf Wizard/Fighter 3rd Level - Leadership
Pvt Cortland Broadcloak - Mobile Fighter (Human, Disgraced Swordlord)
Pvt Grusk II - Mobile Rogue, Ranged Support (Half-Orc, New Recruit)
Pvt Darkbiter - Shapeshifting Ranger, Scout and Combat Support (Beastial Half-Orc, Raised Wild)
Pvt Denison Delgado - Arcane Duelist, Melee Support (Human, Acts in Battle inspire troops, Pathfinder Connections)
Pvt Kaavel Dryearatham - Monk of the Four Winds, Primary Melee (Half - Elf, No Known Importance of Background)
There. I tried to write them from the view of an outsider to the squad, though they would be a bit of what we know of each other at first. If anyone feels I did something wrong there please correct me, and when Monkeygod gets her Dervish/Duelist ready we will have a squad.
PS: Also assuming Yucales request to leave the squad is honored.

Monkeygod |

Hey guys, sorry I am hella late to the party, but I was out all day first at work, then bar hoping, and i just got in about 20 mins ago.
Anyways, I would much prefer we started in Katapesh, though it seems Sargavs is where we're starting. Sea Wolves is a good name.
Blaze will be done up tomorrow. Mobile, fast striking fighter. Kinda a one strike, one kill type deal. Worships Sarenrae, wields scimitar. Been a soldier/merc for the Qadira military both home and abroad since he was 15, and is now 25. His old squad mates gave him the nickname Blaze, on account he's so fast with his blade, sometimes flames would dance along it.

Getting close Pentor, The Sea Wolves are near ready for action. Updating to reflect current changes.

Pvt Blaze - Mobile Fighter (Human, Dawnflower Dervish, Ex-Qadiran Military)
Doomed Hero (Maybe) - ????
Again written from outsider view, suggestions or corrections welcome.
Also: Damn we've got a mobile squad. Dodging through battle to flank out our enemies.... Definitely a wolfpack vibe.

Ryuko |

Since we have most all that down what else do you guys think we should do?
The other squads seem to be starting up a campfire thread. I won't start it now since I have work soon, but someone should make a Steel Wolves campfire thread so we can stretch our RP muscles a bit IC until Pentor gets some posts up, yes?
