Gnome Oracles and favoured class

Rules Questions

I'm curious about how the favoured class progression (+1/2 to effective level when calculating your Oracle's curse ability) works, specifically in regards of the Haunted curse. For all other curses, it's very straight-forward, but for the Haunted curse it directly adds a spell at 10th level (assuming you put all 10 favoured class selections into +1/2 effective level) that doesn't have a set spell level (wizards and sorcerers have it as a 7th level spell, druids as an 8th).

So what happens? Does the oracle possess the spell in these circumstances but doesn't have a spell slot to actually use it?

I think that's right. I've been interpreting the bonus spells for Haunted as this:

Mage Hand and Ghost Sound - Level 0
Levitate and Minor Image - Level 2
Telekinesis - Level 5
Reverse Gravity - Level 7

If you get Reverse Gravity at 10th level using the alternate favored class bonus, you'd need to wait until 14th level until you had a slot available for 7th level spells.

Probably not a good choice of favored class bonus with this curse.

That's what I thought. A little sad, it would make for some epic low-level fights to all of a sudden ... well, reverse gravity.

It means you can use staves or scrolls with it, at least.

How exactly help you with that?

Activating the scroll still requires a roll for the increased caster level, and you could use the staves from the begining.

Reverse Gravity, telekinesis, and the like aren't normally available to an oracle, so you couldn't normally use it from a staff or scroll. Once they're added to your list, however, you can, even if you can't cast it yet.

That being said, a divine reverse gravity scroll would probably come from a druid (so it'd be an 8th level spell), and good luck finding a divine telekinesis scroll...
