A Rather Stupid Monk Question

Rules Questions

Can a monk spend multiple ki points in the same action on the same thing? For example, in one swift action, spend 2 ki points for a +8 Dodge bonus to AC? If so, this means that the monk gets a lot more attacks per round if he wants to "nova". If not, well, nothing changes.

Activating a ki point is a swift action, I believe, and as such can only be done once per round. Hope that helps!

No, each individual power is a swift action on its own. You cannot combine multiple swift action abilities into a single swift action.

Most of them are swift actions.

Extra attack : swift
+20 speed : swift
+4 AC : swift
+20 jump : swift
wholeness of body : Standard
abundant Step : Move
Empty body : Move

that is out of the Core rules. So there are times when you could combine, but they are not common.

Thank you, the exact language confused me a bit.

Although, you could feasibly spend a move action as a swift action, and a standard as a move or swift (unless they removed that and I didn't get the memo) but then that makes my idea impossible/useless because a full-round action costs a move and standard action to use.

So, again, thanks.

Characters are only allowed a single swift action in a given turn.

There is no way to convert that swift action into anything else, nor is there any way of converting other action types into additional swift actions.

Would blessing of fervor allow the OP to do this? It gives an extra swift action it would seem.

no, since the spell does not actually grant you give you a extra swift action. It mearly describes what you can do.

You may "stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.", instead of, as normaly, standing up as a move action that normaly an attack of opportunity.
