Ok....I need some help advice. Im playing an assassin... im currently a level 9 character and have 4 levels in assassin. As it stands I have a 20 sex and 18 int...pretty good I think. Problem is....out of the 7 or so times I've tried to use it. It either a.) Doesn't count as a death attack due to a stipulation in the reworded pathfinder da( they "detect" me. For instance last night one didn't land because a creature bad scent but didn't know where I was) or b.) The save is so stupid easy to make that none have been sucessful. My dm doesn't allow ability focus.
Now the new assassin is COMPLETELY built around his DA...outside of hips at level 8 and poisons that are also kinda men in pf. So for all intents...im a underpowered rogue. It also doesn't help that you have to waste 3 rounds to atempt this attack.
Im about ready to llaneshift to the plane of lava and light my character sheet on fire.

Assassins pretty much suck as PC classes especially with your DM nerfing it. You would be better off playing an assassin thematically by using a ranger, rogue or some combination of the two instead of the PrC.

This was the confirmation I was afraid of... Ill just have to tough it out at least until I get HIPS I guess :/ I tried to bring this up to my DM but he wouldn't hear it.

There is a class called the shadow assassin you might like from Super Genius, but it is 3pp. The guide variant(ranger from the APG) is what I use for my "assassin".
I would just refluff the "ranger focus" into assassin's mark or something similar.
Thanks for.the help haha. To be honest I really want to use the paralyze part of DA to take a enemy alive so they can be questioned. I think the outright killing thing I will only use on the target im "contracted" to kill.
20 sex?!?!? that's a really high sex score man, but assassins do tend to get the ladies :P
