Extremely unlucky. >:
Also, keep in mind that Hagin doesn't know they're illusions. Yet.
Phew - wasn't sure that was a hit. Maybe we should have a little debrief after the excitement, work out what went well and what we might do differently. Either IC or OOC would be useful...

So, how do we divide up the watches? Any thoughts?
Art's still a little nauseated from the experience. Maybe he can take the dawn watch, since he'll have gotten some sleep by then.
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Depending on the hours Feraya can take second or third watch.

I guess Ember takes last watch then.
I feel like a douche for "skipping" duties. D:

Looks like the wolves will get here before you sleep for too long.
As long as they don't eat you, I guess you're alright. (~_~)
Male Elf Conjurer 2
I bet these wolves are not a test. To bad they may find out how grumpy we can get when we dont have dinner yet. ^.^
Wolf Stew anyone?
Hey guys just lurking here and wanted to let you know this makes for a fun read so far.
Are you thinking of continuing on to Masks of the Living Gods and City of Gold after this or are you keeping this a one module thing?
PS: For some reason I'm really liking the sorcerer character...keep up the good work Ember V.
By the looks of it we're going to have arcane stew. D:
Yeah, we seem to have an issue with enemies charging straight past the armored front line and ripping into our cloth wearing buddies.
T'was a very nice attack from you, though.
Art Halfstone wrote: T'was a very nice attack from you, though. Should've done that first time round, but wanted to be cinematic :)

You can expect some inter party fighting if Feraya lives. I mean really Hagin just sitting there.
But anyways the wolves are a bit much for us considering we had one of our guys asleep, one who did not react, and they seem to have more hp and dmg output then us (at least ember and feraya). That bite does min 2 dmg and max 7 which for two of our party is their total hp. Not to mention that trip which grants an OA if we get up and lowers AC for those that make use of Dex for defense. Makes the orcs look easy by far. Feraya and Ember may very well get killed in this encounter. Personally I hope we turn it around T.T
Art's going to be furious too. Not rationally, of course, but people getting hurt and nobody rushing to even wake him up?

I'll add that I'm not trying to play very tactical right now. The character's first adventure, and being a rookie, I'm trying to play Ember making mistakes.
I hope my RP doesn't kill me or any of the party.

Feraya has the old man in his brain. Everytime he does not think he can see Holgast giving him that superior look like he is a little brat. >.<
The wolves only have +2 to hit, they got severly lucky on the rolls (Save for Feraya)

Gah! Missed!
Wolf bait for sure now!
Well here's hoping you guys pull it out. Makes for an interesting read.
I got a crit :O
Gael, go for the wolf that's dragging Feraya, please? D: I want crit. >: Especially since I was absolutely useless against those illusions.

Well, looks like I'm stable for now. Here to hoping that we pull it out, with the hits going our way now.
And a little bit of Ember's background sneaking up on her. Fun for all.

Here is hoping that the wolf doesnt drag your corpse out into the trees either :P
Good hit Gael. I'm out for a few hours but when I get back I'll be sure to continue sta...I mean observing you guys.
Hey Stomp - happy to take the full 1d6 damage for the fire, but figured that trying to leap over it was suitably heroic.
And I think we're actually doing fine in this combat - there's plenty of healing left to come, and I think Art and Gael just probably finished them off...
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Wow I made great rolls, if anyone needs me I will be here writing Feraya's last will and testament along with his tombstone.
Sorry Art - ninja'd your crit. There will be others :)
Hagin might want to channel a bit more healing around the group, now that the wolves are down for good.

And now it's all quiet again.
I get the feeling I'm on the opposite shift from everyone else.

Your on the same shift as me Ember :)
Also Magical Healing instantly cures you and brings you up to conciousness, assuming it does enough to heal you beyond your negatives.
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Your on the same shift as me too, just been working alot latey. Hopefully it will have no effect on my posting.
Also from now on Feraya is staying at the limit range for his spells. One bad roll and what happened to Ember is going to happen to him. >.<
I have a feeling a little romance is brewing between Ember and Art...I know they were close and children and it might be a little weird but I just get that feeling.
:O
I had that thought running through my head a couple of times when doing some of the dialogue. Problem is he's currently committed to another dwarf. And Ember is more of a little sister to him. In fact, to Art they're all his "siblings", and he's the "oldest brother".

Drama, oh the drama!
I think I'm going with the teenage angst vibe. Everything is the most important thing in the world, and any mishap is the greatest disaster that has ever happened!
Or at least until Ember learns to grow up a little. (~_^)
Art is currently Ember's friend, but if we keep falling over and nearly dying near each other, that might change. ;P
Feraya Gilrad wrote: He did not know if Hagin was trying to avoid responsibility or thought he had done nothing wrong, both in his eyes were very dangerous paths.
Yeah I know it seems a bit mean, as long as he is not provoked more he will simmer down. Elves and their tempers, no wonder the main god they worship now is one of vengance. ^.^
He's mostly ashamed that he was just talking about seizing his destiny and his 'destiny' almost killed him and his friends while he was eating stew.
Hah! Welcome to emo-ville. It's like a cross between Dawson's Creek and a 30 seconds to mars concert out there.
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Personally I don't like drama but playing my guy like he is so yeah drama is the result in this case. I really want to move on so Feraya can prepare new spells and we can see what fights we have come the new day. But I won't be sorry if we don't run into anymore wolves, starving or otherwise.
well you guys have certainly captured the youth of your characters...it will be interesting to see how these rifts are mended.
*gets out the popcorn*
Mmmm DRAMA! :D

No! If the Fellowship breaks up, we will never be able to get the Ring to Mt. Doom..., er, Lantern to the Everflame!
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Ember V wrote: No! If the Fellowship breaks up, we will never be able to get the Ring to Mt. Doom..., er, Lantern to the Everflame! Why do I see Art and Ember as Frodo and Sam. ^.^
Who is who I leave up to the spectators.
Undead masquerading as Human
Art - Sam (carries too much stuff, overly helpful, protective of the "ringbearer")
Ember - Frodo (having early doubts, carries the burden, possible romantic tension with "Sam")
Feraya - Boromir (a bit too sure of being right, vindictive, on the angry side)
Hagin - Gimli (semi-sure of being right, tries to hide unfortunate truths with more awesome truths, suffers a form of breakdown at particular types of shock)
Gael - Aragorn (good martial tactics, some fairly badass maneuvers, tendency toward selflessness in battle)
Just a thought. :)
Hey peeps - you are welcome to respond to Gael's little speech however seems most in character, but I'd just remind you that she's a charismatic leader figure with skills in diplomacy :)
Don't make me come back there and knock your heads together!

ROLL A D6!

Damn you Jlighter that nearly toppled me out of my chair lol.
Oh well time to move on, we have a tomb to visit. Hopefully we leave it alive and if not I vote on becoming a ghost sense I cant make it to lich.

Well, if we are still keeping watch, it would be Gael, Feraya, myself, and Hagin to finish.
Male Elf Conjurer 2
Yep so Geal just has to post and we can move on to the next day where we head to the lake if I remember right. Hope we dont run into some lake monster >.<

The next day you wake up in the charred remains of a forest. You can still see the fires burning on the horizon, and the air is thick with smoke.
A downcast Ember stands in the middle of the campsite, ash smudged on her cheeks, and a corner of her dress charred.
"I though I heard something in the dark, and I got scared..." she appologises.
