Halfling Inquisitor Advice

Advice

Hi everyone!
Recently my DM has asked everyone at our table to come up with an alternate character to play in the event that the ones we are playing die or leave the party. He wants to somewhat incorporate them in his story so that they can come into the game without the "Hello I’m _____ here to fill in the void of _____." feel that comes with new character integration. Any-who I’ve been thinking about what Id like to play and have a rough Idea but I was hoping someone could help me with a few ideas or pointers as I dont have a lot of experience with the Golarion setting or Pathfinder in general.(This will be my second PF character)

My idea for a character is a Halfling Inquisitor of Abadar hailing from the Multhune(spelling) region. At an early age Beau(Our halfling hero)was cast into the indentured service/slavery of Multhunes military as an assistant to an Abadar Chaplin of a backwater military post. Through his years of military service he gained his citizenship and his devotion to the master of the first vault. With Beaus wife dead from an unfortunate accident and his 4 children grown and gone Beau no longer has any ties left to his small town and leaves in search of adventure and the thrill of travel.

Like I said its a bit rough but here’s where I really could use some ideas. Currently our group is in Cheliax(spelling) and may soon be heading back to Rahadun(spelling). What would be a good motivation to go to either of these places?
Also what would really drive an Inquisitor of Abadar?

Thanks for reading I apologize for any/all spelling errors I’m at my gfs and don’t have any of my books with me.

Sorry for post bump its been a few days since I posted and no response. I've got game this evening and wanted to pitch the idea to my DM any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!

I would think an Inquisitor of Abadar could be very driven to oppose corrupt trade practices or anything that greatly inhibits commerce. Perhaps he could be following leads that point him to a far reaching thieves' guild?

Alternatively, Abadar is pretty strongly opposed to Lamashtu and Rovagug, so an Inquistor in service to The God of the First Vault might be pretty motivated to seek out and eliminate any such cults that he hears about.

Hope that helps ~

Liberty's Edge

An Inquisitor of Abadar would also oppose anyone and anything that directly threatened civilization and higher culture as a whole. So barbarian invasions are something he's not happy about, book burning is anathema, and so on.

Cheliax seems an odd choice for him to head to, actually, since they're really very ordered and civilized. Not nice, but ordered.

Rahadoum, on the other hand, is actually a very likely (if appallingly dangerous) place for any God's more fanatical followers to go to spread the good word, or hunt down those who oppress the religious.

My advice, don't play a halfling or choose abadar.

Both extremely 'meh' options.

Thanks for the help guys!

To Pendagast: I know its not the optimal choice but Ive recently read the "Plagues and Shadows" pathfinder novel and really liked the characters that followed Abadar. Also our game is very heavy on the RP so having something kinda fun and different will I hope ultimatly make the character much more enjoyable to play.

Ps: Halfling are super cool!

I played a halfling fighter for part of Council of theives, but only because there were four other players and i wanted to play the reluctant "you dont need me, go away" character that demanded twice the usual treasure share to go.

The rebels were trying to recruit, so i wanted to be petitioned, not "where do i sign", so my character was neutral evil and in it for power and money. But he especially enjoyed killing sewer goblins.

as a non TWF sword and board fighter he had alot of feats available to be pretty deadly vital strike being a favorite.

he had a 17 str.

Constantly being referred to as the party's "odd little creepy servant".

I ended up killing the mayor of westcrown when i got the chance, ran him through "thanks for the contract chubbs!"
