I think Nixda has the right idea with the reflex save. I probably wouldn't give them the Perception test as a freebie. They should ask for one I mean honestly they are walking into a narrow alleyway. Even if they all fail it once you make pcs roll for something the paranoia will kick in (Unless you want that ^_^) and then they may avoid it all together.

Thanks for the help guys!

To Pendagast: I know its not the optimal choice but Ive recently read the "Plagues and Shadows" pathfinder novel and really liked the characters that followed Abadar. Also our game is very heavy on the RP so having something kinda fun and different will I hope ultimatly make the character much more enjoyable to play.

Ps: Halfling are super cool!

Sorry for post bump its been a few days since I posted and no response. I've got game this evening and wanted to pitch the idea to my DM any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!

I just sold my characters soul to a Devil in the name of vengeance. I wanted the death of the Red Mantis assassins for rp reasons in exchange for my soul. My DM gave me a LE intelligent pair of Gauntlets that detect nearby members and an aura of non-detection. They also have a power that I can activate as a free action to cause things that are below 0 hp unconscious bleeding to burst into flames. If a creature is killed this way the gauntlets consume the flesh and grant more power.
Eventually the gauntlets become incredibly powerful. Once I use the gauntlets my alignment changes to LE and when my character dies he must serve the armies of hell. Also I am not allowed to be resurrected by my own means and if done against my will the ones who resurrected me will be cursed. I am not allowed to discuss my contract with anyone else. The Gauntlets may not be removed by any means. If I begin to stray from the contract or ignore the pretense of Red mantis the gauntlets themselves will compel me to act.

Hi everyone!
Recently my DM has asked everyone at our table to come up with an alternate character to play in the event that the ones we are playing die or leave the party. He wants to somewhat incorporate them in his story so that they can come into the game without the "Hello I’m _____ here to fill in the void of _____." feel that comes with new character integration. Any-who I’ve been thinking about what Id like to play and have a rough Idea but I was hoping someone could help me with a few ideas or pointers as I dont have a lot of experience with the Golarion setting or Pathfinder in general.(This will be my second PF character)

My idea for a character is a Halfling Inquisitor of Abadar hailing from the Multhune(spelling) region. At an early age Beau(Our halfling hero)was cast into the indentured service/slavery of Multhunes military as an assistant to an Abadar Chaplin of a backwater military post. Through his years of military service he gained his citizenship and his devotion to the master of the first vault. With Beaus wife dead from an unfortunate accident and his 4 children grown and gone Beau no longer has any ties left to his small town and leaves in search of adventure and the thrill of travel.

Like I said its a bit rough but here’s where I really could use some ideas. Currently our group is in Cheliax(spelling) and may soon be heading back to Rahadun(spelling). What would be a good motivation to go to either of these places?
Also what would really drive an Inquisitor of Abadar?

Thanks for reading I apologize for any/all spelling errors I’m at my gfs and don’t have any of my books with me.
