DM advice on curse of the crimson throne (slight- Spoiler)

Curse of the Crimson Throne

Dark Archive

In the party I am DMing there is a really good blackjack/Serithtial weapon finesse sword fighter. which is good but... it is just that the rest of the party gets the short end of the stick. There is so much geared to that one player. And he fits the roll well, but I need to make sure none of the other players feel left out. What should I do? (he gets the black jack items the celestial armor Serithtial...)

Thanks

1) You are probably worrying about it to much. These things generally work themselves out.

2) What is the party make up, as in classes and background.

Silver Crusade

Do you have any other sword-users in the campaign? Serithial doesn't necessarily have to go to the new Blackjack, or you can change the type of weapon to suit someone else's character.

I don't remember what other major items are in the campaign, but you can always alter the treasure to give something interesting to the other characters. I guess it depends on whether your players feel slighted or not.

I agree. I don't see a problem of the Black Jack items with the Celestial plate, but Serithial on top of that sounds a bit much. Provided there is another frontliner I would tailor Serithial to land her with them. If there isn't, maybe you should just roll with it. Every party needs a hero, after all.

Dark Archive

There is a non hand to hand bard and ranger
There is a monk (not a sword fighter)
There is a summoner/dragon decipel/barbarian (fights with claws)
And the dex based fighter(who is the only heavy armor and sword fighter)

The fighter has taken up the Hero roll well for the most part.

I may few other item and up the monsters a little (like add the advanced template) The sword is just so powerful but you kinda need it and it is the reason behind the 5th mod.

Silver Crusade

The sword is pretty powerful, but I always thought that the last module was tough enough to warrant it. The AP is kinda set-up around a fighter-type character, so I don't think it's a huge deal in the end. If you're really worried about one player being the hero, modify some encounters so that the other characters can shine so they can get a bit of the same feeling.

Yeah, well. If the other players don't build their characters around melee, then they don't. Give them some heroic sub-plots or modify a few encounters to play to their strengths, if you fear that the campaign will focus too much on one character.

To compare to my CotCT campaign, the Paladin pretty much was the runaway most powerful party member and also got Serithial. But that ruffled only the feathers of one player, who complained that his Wizard wasn't putting out as much damage as the Paladin. ^^ The rest were quite fine with their characters.
