Hello, I've thought of making a weapon wielding monk using the weapon adept alternative option.
The weapon choice would be a weapon with reach which creates a problem, I don't see any monk weapons with reach, there's spear so couldn't it be possible to use longspear since it's nearly the same or some exotic weapon by spending a feat on it?
Now I'd like opinions from people, is the weapon adept worth it in your opinion and what do you say about using some other weapon that's not from the monk list and DM's accepting it as a monk weapon?
Thanks forehand for the help!

there are no monk reach weapons this is likely deliberate as a monk could basically threaten everythig to 10 feet with one. I think monk weapon adepts are excellent my temple sword adept was huge at tripping and precise strike is amazing for combat maneuvers. I'd have liked a way to get greater focus but cannot have everything.

But still it doesn't raise the AB of monk or chance to hit them?
Also how would a monk threaten everything then?I was hoping for something like a shaolin monk with a longspear from vagabond.

Weapon Adept with Brass Knuckles might be nice I guess. But I'd be loathe to loose Stunning Fist staggering for 1d6+1 rounds in combination with Medusa's Wrath. Reach you can get with an Enlarge Person.
But you know it's not about powerplay or being the best, it's about the RP by having a reach spear or something similar and taking influence from Vagabond manga's monks as the concept.
So any DM who might think they would allow their players with a monk who can use a reach spear as a monk weapon?
