Hey,
is it intented that the Beast Masters animal(s) don´t get the favored enemy bonus? Or did Paizo just forgot to add the sentence? As it is written the ability seems not really an improvement. You walking around with a lot of useless animals who drop like flies...
Well the Beast master doesn't really sacrifice that much.
The get a better animal companion (emphatic link, higher level, and the choice of multiple companions). All the give up is a single feat and camouflage.
It is a fair trade as I see it, and adding the favored enemy bonus to the companions would make it an better option than a regular ranger as I see it.

They also share the Favored Terrain bonus normally. I was woundering if the "+2 bonus on Wild Empathy & Handle Animal" of the Beastmaster Animal Companion stacks w/ the link +4 to those rolls. THey are unnamed & no where does it say you loose the "Link" ability of the normal animal companion.
I do think that not getting the Favored bonus does blow but an not unfair trade.

HaraldKlak already mentioned the upgraded animal companion.
And no, they do not get the favoured enemy bonus. If they did, they would be even more powerful. Being able to see through the eyes of your hawk or do other stuff like that plus the improved companion is nothing to sneeze at. And Strong Bond is just the icing on the cake.
