Fighter / Rogue Build

Advice

Scarab Sages

I'm going to play a human fighter/rogue. I plan on using the lucerne hammer for the reach and taking the feinting approach. I'm going take to 2 levels of fighter to get 4 feats before going rogue.

Need some help on the ability stats. It's a 20 pt buy. Here's what I have so far.

Str 16
Dex 14
Con 13
Int 13
Wis 10
Cha 12

The Int has to stay at 13 in order to get combat expertise. I want the cha to stay at 12 so I will have a bonus to bluff.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Feinting is almost never worth it if you have a single other melee character in your party, flanking is just miles better, and lets you make Full Attacks to boot.

That said, those stats mostly look good (if less than optimized), though I only count 18 pt buy:

Str 14+2
Dex 14
Con 13
Int 13
Wis 10
Chr 12

I'd probably raise Constitution to 14 with the remaining 2 pts. And from a pure optimization standpoint, you're better off moving the 12 from Chr to Wis.

I had put the racial bonus into dex, but if i do put it in str i would have to extra points.

Thank you for pointing that out.

If I may offer an alternative, use the Scout Archetype, and Cornugon Smash. That way you will always sneak, without Feint, or a flanker.

Human
Strength 18 (16+2 Human)
Dexterity 14
Constitution 14
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 10
Charisma 10

Build:

Fighter-Power Attack, Weapon focus- Lucerne Hammer, Dazzling Display
Rogue-
Rogue-Improved Sunder, Trap Spotter-Rogue Perk
Rogue-
Rogue-Skill Focus-Intimidate-Offensive Defense-Rogue Perk
Fighter-Furious Focus
Fighter-Cornugon Smash, Shatter Defenses
Rogue-
Rogue-Iron Will-Rogue Talent-Strong Impression
Rogue-
Rogue-Improved Iron Will Rogue Talent-Fast Stealth

Heres how it works. Charge the enemy with power attack (No penalties to hit due to furious focus), with the scout archetype you generate a sneak attack, and cornugon smash fires off, allowing you to easily demoralize, also, you get a bonus to AC equal to your sneak attack dice thanks to Offensive Defense. Next round because of shatter defenses they are automatically flat footed and can be sneak attacked at will.

Added bonuses- With Mithral armour and armour expert trait, he suffers no Armour check penalties in Full plate.
Can combine duelist gloves, and a subtle Lucerne Hammer to get big bonuses to hit and damage

Big Stupid Fighter has it right. Also consider the thug archetype as well. It does cost trapfinding but adds a round whenever you demoralize and brutal beating adds sickened for free (a decent debuff)

Also if you're happy with mithral breastplate, go with weapon master fighter. It will net you Wpn training earlier.

Also, mathematically you're no worse of taking it to fighter 8/rogue 12 in terms of BAB and you'll get better class abilities.

Fighter 8 gets Wpn training 2, reliable strike, Wpn guardand you can retrain a feat at 4 and 8.

Rogue 12 gets 6d6 sa, up to 3 advanced talents (use extra talent feat). Brutal beating.

look at beguiling strike, sickened and demoralized for -6 to enemy hitting you. Add offensive defense to pump AC for tanking.

I agree with BSF that scout may be what you're looking for. You can go scout and pick up the spring attack line of feats since at lvl 8 the scout lets you apply sneak attack after moving 10' in a round. This allows you to spring attack and position yourself to possibly get an AoO and/or flank for a full attack on your next round.
