Uh, Lemmy? Dudemeister? The child is probably 4 or 5 years old, now.
THREAD RESURRECTION.
Beat me to it. 3.5 years after the OP which means that 1.1 year old is now around 4.5 years old. Probably still wanders around and is grabby.
Hopefully the parents have stayed like they were, sounds like they were concerned responsible parents at the time. Always good if a parent puts their child over their game...just personal preference of my own speaking.
I would DEFINATELY hope they didn't resort to drugging their child as someone had suggested, that's a terrible idea for what was intended.
IMO of course.

Currently in two groups. Each group has a parent/parents in it.
The Monday guy with a wife and two kids shows up when he's able. Because our DM is insane, he runs multiple campaigns, and we switch depending on player availability. He tends to miss at least half the nights, if not more, but we don't fault him for that.
The other group has two parents who bring their two-year-old with them. While a long term goal is to clear out the basement of the house we game at to make it a playpen of sorts, for right now the little tyke sleeps during the game. I did bring up the suggestion of getting a group pool to hire a babysitter some time ago, but apparently decent babysitters cost a pretty penny. When they can, they have one of their parents watch the kid, but they're not always available.
