Improved evasion and heavier armors, bug or feature?

Rules Questions

So (if i read it correctly) the rogue's talent improved evasion allows you to use it when you wear any kind of armor.
Is this a bug or a feature?

Evasion:

Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level and higher, a rogue can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless rogue does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Improved Evasion:

Improved Evasion (Ex): This works like evasion, except that while the rogue still takes no damage on a successful Reflex saving throw against attacks, she henceforth takes only half damage on a failed save. A helpless rogue does not gain the benefit of improved evasion.

I don't believe you're reading it correctly. "This works like evasion, except that..." That means that its the exact same except where it says otherwise. So, since it doesn't specify that you can use it in medium or heavy armor you still can't because of Evasion.

Grand Lodge

"Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor."

"This works like evasion..."

Thus Improved Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor.

Yes, if it allowed heavier armor it would have said so somewhere after the word exception.
Thank you, i guess that if i want to keep evasion i will have to settle with a mithril breastplate.

+1 to the above posts.

As a bonus info, I can add that animal companions can use their evasion with any kind of armor (barding).
