So my party just got jumped by an ettercap and its little buddy spiders. We have a rogue, witch, paladin and a alchemist all at lvl 2. all but the alchemist have been poisoned, all the little poisoners have been killed and the duration of the poisons have run out, but how long will the characters have the ability damage, aka the rogue took 4 points of dex damage and now is not so agile. we are are the way to a dungonue and I an wondering if they will be weakened by the poison when we get there, which is not that far away. I have been reading the book and searching other threads but have not come up with a solid answer, thanks.

Hi, Red Leaf. Welcome to the Paizo boards!
Ability damage can either be healed naturally by rest or through magical means.
Healing Ability Damage: Temporary ability damage returns at the rate of 1 point per night of rest (8 hours) for each affected ability score. Complete bed rest restores 2 points per day (24 hours) for each affected ability score.
Spells like restoration, lesser or restoration can heal ability damage immediately.

Another option:
If by any chance one of the characters has some points in the heal skill, he can provide long-term care for the others with a DC 15 check. If he succeeds, the treated party members will heal 2 points of ability damage (instead of 1) during the next rest. Note, that you can take 10 for this check, so a character with heal as class skill needs only 2 ranks (+/- wisdom modifier) to auto succeed.
And since heal can be used untrained, it might be worth a try even without any ranks.

Just so its clear, by 'long term care' they mean the injured character must rest for a full, straight 8 hours, and the 'healer' must be attending the person, which I believe means they dont get the benefits of having rested for the length of time.
Well, long-term care is specified as a light activity. Whatever that might mean.
I'm actually trying to find the rules for resting to clear this up but I can't seem to find them. And to be honest, I can't even remember READING any rules on resting. Ever.
Is there such a thing in Pathfinder? And if yes: Where?
