Heya all,
My question relates to using Thrown Weapons with the Two Weapon Rend, Two Weapon Defense, and Double Slice feats in the TWF progression. Now, I know that the flavor of the names and text would lean towards melee but no where in there do they mention they must be melee. Is there a update anywhere on these?

yes, the RAI (read as intended) does imply melee. Heres my thinking.
Two-Weapon Defense (Combat)
You are skilled at defending yourself while dual-wielding.
Prerequisites: Dex 15, Two-Weapon Fighting.
Benefit: When WIELDING a double weapon or two weapons
(not including natural weapons or unarmed strikes), you
gain a +1 shield bonus to your AC.
When you are fighting defensively or using the total
defense action, this shield bonus increases to +2.
The term Wielding is the key word. You have to be wielding the weapons to gain the benefits.
Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat)
You can fight with a weapon wielded in each of your
hands. You can make one extra attack each round with the
secondary weapon.
It says Wielded in each of your hands...
and granted Two Weapon Rend doesn't state wielding but this comes back to the TWF/Double slice.. they have Wielded or wielding in its wording.
and so, you could use your throwing weapons in melee combat to get the bonus's but you couldn't throw them.

With Two Weapon Defense and Double Slice I would let it fly, in both cases it makes some sense for it to work, in the case of Two Weapon Defense you would need to have two weapons in hand at the end of your round (so take quick draw first).
If just read the text literally for Two Weapon Rend it sounds like it should work but I don't see it happening. The implication is that you are able to leverage the two hits to dig in deeper and inflict additional damage which you wouldn't be able to do with thrown weapons. In my home game I wouldn't let a player use it that way and I wouldn't push it and use it in organized play either.
The problem is that in spite of some really clear wording in the two weapon fighting section the two weapon feats don't seem to be geared towards thrown weapons at all.

But when the attack happens, you aren't wielding the thrown weapons.
