I check both in game and out of game threads daily. Sometimes I'm a bit compulsive and I check them several times daily. Sometimes, if I'm really bored, once an hour or more. I do not have a problem. I can quit anytime. Don't you dare tell me I have a problem.

Well things are definitely quiet. It is strange that Sweeny and Kaylen went quiet on the Paizo site about the same time Tom did. Sweeny didn't have much of a posting history, but Kaylen was in several other PbP and even DMing some games that have been left in the lurch.
We still have a good core. Could perhaps use some more muscle, but the 4 of us could still continue if Tom is still out there.

Sweeney generally forgets to check the pages unless I tell him to since it's been so slow as of late, but neither of us have given up on the game yet.
I hope you all are well, otherwise. Anything new?

Sweet, right? I want lasers, and I am not at all against having wing implants, especially if they are fully functional!

I'm doing Quite well, just got back from another fun filled time at Vandlar Larp. Met with one of the merchant princes of my gypsy clan, talked some trade which will make me quite rich, and I'm formulating punishment for one of the gypsies that has jeopardized many of the familia since I am now bandolier of the gypsies in the area! Yay power!

Bree Longfield |

I'd have a hard time getting them along for sporting competitions though, explain THOSE on the pat down...!
Bah! Just tell them they can't discriminate against those born with disabilities, and they'll feel too crappy to check and see if you were really born that way!

Yay power, indeed! Lol, sounds like so much fun.

But we can try to throw ourselves on the mercy of the community and see if someone wants to pick up DMing this group.
Starting to think it might be about that time...
Last post from Tom was 23 May, it's now 15 June, I hope he's ok!

TOM!!!! ARE YOU OK???!!!!

Zyren Zemerys |

Hey everyone, atm I'm trying to read through your campaign, yet, since I got quite a bunch of other campaigns to terrorize, I'm slowly aaand I still have to read Second Darkness properly...
If someone could help me with a wrap-up of the action by now, their characters in general and especially the character interaction, that would surely help me to skim through your campaign.
Oh and yes, I'm the possible replacement DM (if Tom does not turn up again, which would be very sad, since this is more or less his baby).

Winter Snow |

Hi guys ^^DMZ^^ is my GM in a few other campaigns, and I did ask whether he would consider picking up this game as well, if Tom was unable to continue (hope you are ok mate!).
The potted history of the SD campaign to date.
Starting Characters
Kaylen – Fighter
Kira Moonsong – Elven Sorc.
Sable Eboncrow - Elven Witch (Raven Familiar)
Sebastian DeGray – Half Elven( Bard)
Sweeney – Rogue
Winter Snow – Cleric of Erastil
The party all found themselves individually at the ‘Goblin gaming house after a soft introduction and much angst between Winter and the ‘hooker’ Kira.
After a bit of light hearted gambling, a whole lot of rigging/cheating by Kira, and then a few terse words once again between Winter and Kira, a bunch of brigands tried pulling off a heist, but didn’t pull it off – I believe some may have gotten away, but generally it was a result all round with Thuvalia being captured.
This led to Saul hiring the party on as extra workers for a spot of security (and whatever else working for the casino entails)
Exit Kira
The day went badly for Thuvalia, Winter asked nicely that she not be cut up into small pieces by the rest of the party as they asked her who set up the robbery etc. Eventually she gave us a contact down on the docks and some story about a ship they had robbed at the docks.
We followed up on that lead, and found what we thought would be the right spot, only to find the victim of their previous robbery was a Captain that we then had a confrontation with.
As the misunderstanding was sorted out, another Rogue appeared
Enter Bree – Human Rogue
Apparently she was some kind of bounty hunter who it seems was hired on to meet who we believe was the contact for the robbery, but we all decided we’d be friends.
Post that, we all holed up in a tavern, where it turned out there was an injured Elven maiden who had been poisoned... being the great guy Winter is, he carted her off to the temple for healing, meanwhile the party arranged a bad day for some nasty who had been beating on the hookers.
Turns out the girl had been working on the Arch and investigating it when she was injured by some strange poison dart. Two elves were very interested in her, but Winter politely told them to go away.
The party was now resting until the dawn, notionally to confront the man who had ordered the robbery; the good Captain who they’d earlier made friends with (after the confusion) was standing by to help us.
That’s a quick post offhand, I probably missed a few details which others will volunteer no doubt.
We have a few still posting around
Bree - Human Rogue
Sable Eboncrow - Elven Witch guy (Raven Familiar)
Sebastian DeGray – Half Elven Bard
Winter Snow – Aasimar Cleric of Erastil
One semi AFk
Sweeney – Human Rogue
One MIA – since May 12, has been off the boards entirely since May 16.
Kaylen – Fighter
So with a HEAVY TANK replacement we’d be fine.

All of the following has no relevance, if you're not interested in accepting my reign of terror...uh, gamemastery. There's so much stuff about sword-measuring going on in the campaign, I lost track of the action :) And there is some stuff that is not canon, so I have to sort out what I make of it. Questions that popped up:
So, the party is working for Saul at the Golden Goblin Gaming Hall (run out of G's Mr. Vaughn?)-since how many weeks and what did he tell them about his criminal career?
Is Thuvalia still captured or given to the Gendarnes? What happened to her mate?
The elven girl you met is Samaritha Beldusk, correct?
Did Clegg Zincher already turn up at the goblin?
I know, these questions may appear a bit dumb, yet you are such a bunch of prolific writers, that reading every post in detail would take aeons...
Can someone please make a list with the names and professions of the major NPC you met?

Sebastian DeGray |

Hey ZZ, Thanks for taking a look. Yeah we are a wordy bunch. Part of what made this such a good game. We have close to 800 posts and it is still only day one. But take your time getting aclimated we have waited awhile and can wait for you to get comfortable.
And thanks Winter for arranging this chance.
NPCs
At the Gold Goblin
Saul Vancaskerkin - Proprietor
Feldin - Dwarf assistant to Saul
Mara - Head Cook
Larur - Cashier
Hans and Beyar - Guards
Thuvalia - Thief - currently a prisoner in the Gold Goblin
Angvar - Her accomplice, dead
Josper Creesy - Captain of the Flying Cloud
At the Foxy Fiddler
Chort - Barkeep
Lora - Serving wench (not hooker, thank you very much), Sebastian love interest
Loy - Drunken lout who got a bit too handy with the girls. Sweeney instructed him on manners.
At Temple of Iomedea
Aethari - Elf scholar, friend of Lora, poisoned, Found at Foxy Fiddler and taken to Temple of Iomedea
Latricia Evanore - Head Priestess of Iomedea

Sebastian DeGray |

As to your questions:
This is still the first day. So Saul has only really given us a tour of the place and the conditions of our hire. Then dismissed us till tomorrow as he was closing the casino for the day, so we decided to follow up on the robbery attempt.
Thuvalia is still our prisoner. We were going to determine her fate based on what we found out about the contact sent her.
The elven girl we know as Aethari. Sebastian found her with the serving girls at the Foxy Fiddler, poisoned. We took her to the Temple of Iomedea and were told to come back tomorrow to check on her.
We have never met Clegg Zincher

Bree Longfield |

Winter and Sebastian forgot to mention that I'm super cool and they love me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more than they did Kira. :P
I suppose that I should mention that Tom used my introduction to the group as a method to distribute some "misinformation" as he called it. He's given me the details via e-mail. I think my character has done the job at this point, and said all Tom asked me to say, but if you would like to give me an e-mail address for you, I will gladly forward those correspondences to you.
My PC is the only Riddleport native and so has been chosen to act as tour-guide... but this is my first time playing Pathfinder and limited previous experience with D&D. I do however have 8+ years of pnp rpging under my belt though, and I think I'm doing OK with Bree so far. I have several of the books on pdf and have read up on Riddleport some, but will most likely need any DM's aid in directing folks to the right locations from time to time.
Another NPC of note that I didn't see the others mention is the mysterious cloaked man who called himself "Marcus Fenn" who hired Bree to retrieve the chest from the sorcerer named "Angvar".
If there is anything else I can do... anymore "misinformation" I can spread, I have no qualms being the DM's pawn for this, lol.

Sebastian DeGray |

As Sebastian sees it, please add any thoughts and perspectives
Well the group has its moral compass in Winter, the Aasimar who is determined to do the right and proper thing - LG. Wants to raise money to help his community in the mountains. Seems so certain on matters that he is easy for Sebastian to follow.
Sable who wants to do the right thing and help where he can - NG Elf, perhaps slightly insane or lived as a hermit too long, but is nice and friendly and knowledgeable. Came to town concerned about the black cloud.
Sebastian - Half-Elf. Naive (not that he sees himself this way) perpetual student and failed (and he especially does not see himself this way) collegiate actor. Knows a little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing. Heart is in right place, but doesn't always know what the right thing to do is - NG Came to town to study the ancient Thessolonian stones in the countryside, and has been robed twice since arriving.
Sweeney - Also Half-Elf. Bit of a schmoozer. Rolls his eyes a lot at the group's charity, but seems like he can be counted on to do what is necessary right or wrong - CN Korsovo origins I believe.
Bree - Just met (several hundred posts ago :p ) Skittish and a bit mercenary, but impressive in that she survives by her wits on these dangerous streets - CN. Local girl does good.
Kaylen - Scary and tough. Big girl has her sights on working for the guard. Figures the best way to do that is rough up those needing roughing up - CN Korsovo merc washed up in Riddleport.

... you still forgot super cool and more loved than Kira. Pshyeah, Sebastian, throw a girl a bone!

I'd love to see this game be picked up, and I'll glady contribute anything I can towards seeing that happen. I assure you Sweeney is alive, he's just been afk but if it gets picked back up I shall poke him with a stick to ensure we get his snarkiness back in the group.
I was chatting with him OOC and OOG the other day and we both really want to continue this thread, I've been considering joining other pbps to fill the gap, but I've been hesitant hoping that something would come of this one. If ZZ picks up where Tom left off, or even has to do a bit of deus ex machina to get the ball rolling, it'd be awesome.
As with everyone, I do sincerely hope Tom is doing all right.
If it comes to pass that this game cannot be salvaged, though, I implore the players to find me on facebook or somewhere out in the ether, for I have grown fond of you all and our interactions.

I think you should poke him with a stick anyway, it would be funny.

I'll be sure to stalk you... I mean talk to you... elsewhere if the game does bomb out.

OK, that helps a lot...still day one, this is nearly as hilarious as my Runelords campaign which had like 500 posts before we managed to get to the first paragraph of the AP.
Since you all seem willing to sell your soul, I'll gladly be your new Dm *TADA*
I'm relatively sure I will not be able to roleplay all of the already introduced NPCs in the way Tom did, so don't be surprised if any of them react in a strange way :)

Sweet. It's to be expected that things will be different, we'll all need a bit to adapt to the changes, I'm sure.
EDIT: Technically it is now morning of the second day.

You can always explain away bizarre npc reactions by introducting the infamous fugitive crack goblin. First Pathfinder game my friend Lennix ran for me he had a goblin on crack, we couldn't even get our objective for half an hour we were laughing so hard.
Thank you ZZ, very much. I look forward to the game's resurrection and/or the epic fight to the death if Tom ever returns!

Hmmm... enter a new world were co-DMing exists, Tom and ZZ unite to terrorize us!
If you want a fun experience in co-DMing, do an egg timer game. Set up a sandbox module that's completely open ended, then set an egg timer to a random time. DM #1 has the alotted time to run, then passes it to the next person capable of running and sets another random time. Very chaotic and enjoyable.

That does sound like a blast...
ZZ so we can no longer talk to each other here, or you will not read comments here any longer?

Bree Longfield |

Lol, I wasn't sure either. I'm not sure if Tom ever clarified a date, but I figured you would be the most likely to know after your excellent NPC list break down! Plus, you've been playing from the start.
Sebastian, come introduce yourself in the Campfire link, please sir!

Sebastian DeGray |

Yeah, me too. It's hard to break obsessive habits :P
Why did you take so long to respond? I have been waiting for some form of recognition.
Although I joke, sometimes when I post something game-shattering or just really pointient, I will find myself hovering on the forums awaiting the first hint of a response.....pathetic! :P

Lol, I do to but shhhh don't tell anyone!
I slept from 3 am to 4 pm... I think I needed it, but my body is achy as all hell now. I responded as soon as my eyes were clear enough to stare at the computer screen and see it! I swear!

I go from Sunday night to Wednesday night without getting much sleep at all because my little girl has issues with waking up crying in the middle of the night, and then often refuses to go right back to sleep. I've mentioned it to the doctors several times in the past but they don't seem to find it something to be concerned about. So, on Thursday nights when she goes to her dad's house, I sleep like the dead usually for 10 or more hours.
You'll survive a few days with little sleep, but I hope it goes smoothly for you and you don't suffer too much for it. Congratulations on the raise and the key :)
