Felicia Day to Launch 'Dragon Age: Redemption' Web Series

Jon Brazer Enterprises

I'm majorly excited about this. Dragon Age + Day = Awesome! Now if only we can get Zaboo in there, it would be perfect.

Felicia Day rocks. Not even Kate Beckinsdale in a Black leather skinsuit can compare.

It's TRAILER time!

Yeah she's totally faux-geek hot, but just can't take her remotely seriously in the proposed role - sorry, but no.

Meh. She's oversensitive. For example, that restraining order was totally unnecessary.

BABY, WHY DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT WE'RE SOUL MATES?!?

She's thin enough, pale enough, and has naturally red hair. She makes a perfectly fine elf, and is even better as an assassin because she's in the believable spectrum of "pretty" which is where you'd expect a successful assassin to be as opposed to somewhere in the unbelievable spectrum of "gorgeous" reserved for Bond girls and Sports Illustrated swimsuit models.

Thats not what I'm asking for...

Shes lean and thin, with no real musculature or tone/development.
She doesn't look like a capable assassin, doesn't have the tone for someone who could swing a sword, and doesn't look anything like, or remotely like, a fighter (no, not per the PC class, but someone who could engage in combat).

She's no Linda Hamilton ala T2.
She's no Xena.

And please spare me any "she only looks like she's completely useless as a clever ruse..." line of argument, it doesn't wash :p

So basically you're holding out for Summer Glau, who was a trained ballerina before she went into acting. Gotcha.

Oh HELL NO. Summer Glau is the LEAST convincing 'tough' I've seen today, almost as bad as Angela Garner. I shouldn't see them in action and die from laughter.

Without even bothering to dig into the incredibly deep pool - just ONE example of whats out there:

Look her up on google images as well, yes she is hot as, and yes she is a full contact MMA fighter.

The difference between these fine ladies and Felicia is that Ms. Day has a proven track record in producing popular web content. So while she may not be ideal to portray an assasin (I agree her previous roles make it hard to envision her as overly cuthroat), she is bankable enough that Bioware decide to team up with her.

My own view is more dragonage web content the better, so not looking for the perfect fit into the role.

Besides, Briggite Wilson didn't really strike me as the perfect physical type for an elite gov agent in Mortal Combat, but she played the role well enough. I think Felicia will do the same.

Shes 'bankable', but not for portraying a very believeable character :p

I just think we will get another helping of sub-par genre content which will be cheezy and made for its eye candy value, and all that will happen is that the genre will reinforce itself as something not to be taken seriously and continue on as a bit of a sad joke. I'd prefer to see something with teeth as opposed to something so horrible I just can't watch... which I suspect this will fall into.

For every Conan there were five 'Barbarian Brothers meet Ator the fighting Eagle', but now we don't even get the rare 'Conan' gem.

Horrible cheeze out there, just horrible.

I feel your pain, I remember seeing Ator 25 years ago and I still have nightmares..hangliders and grenades..argh!
