Anyone know of a PFS-legal way to expand your list of special monk weapons (other than the Zen Archer, who just gets various bows)? I've not yet found a trait or feat or class option that adds a weapon to the monk's special weapon list. (Note that I'm not looking for existing unusual weapons that have the monk descriptor, like the temple sword; I'm looking for a way to make a non-monk weapon into a monk weapon.)

Depending on interpretation, the trait Heirloom Weapon may get around the Monk's limitation on weapon choice:
You carry a weapon that has been passed down from generation to generation in your family. This heirloom weapon is of masterwork quality (but you pay only the standard cost at character creation). You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls with this specific weapon and are considered proficient with that specific weapon (but not other weapons of that type) even if you do not have the required proficiencies.
If you are just looking to add to the number of weapons your character can use, you can also just take a level of a class that offers the weapon you want.
Edit: After looking back over the Monk in the Core Book I am assuming you are referring to the more limited list usable with Flurry of Blows. Unfortunately, you may have to wait til the Tian Xia books or Ultimate Combat get published to see the list expanded. I would be very surprised if the list were not expanded in one of those.

Special monk weapons specifically. I'm particularly eyeballing the Weapon Adept variant monk (Advanced Player's Guide p. 114-115) and its Way of the Weapon Master class ability, which only applies to a monk weapon.

Those weapons are added to the ones a monk is proficient with in general, not added to the list of special monk weapons that can be used with flurry of blows. A monk is proficient with several more weapons than just the special ones. I checked through the APG, and Adventurer's Armory as well, and I saw no notes marking the new weapons as anything other than just being regular proficiencies.

Note that while the temple sword (from the Advanced Player's Guide) is not described as a monk weapon, it has the "monk" designation on the table, which categorizes it as a special monk weapon. Therefore, it is viable for flurry of blows (and any other special monk abilities that rely on the categorization of "special monk weapon").
Really, there's no reason for a monk to use anything BUT a temple sword if you're doing a special monk weapon from the stock list. It has all the good characteristics of a longsword (which means it's better than a quarterstaff or a sai or whatnot, unless you're doing a disarm build) with the ability to flurry.
What I am looking for particularly is a way to add another weapon to the category of "special monk weapon." I don't care about getting proficiency; there are a multitude of ways to do that. Gaining the ability to flurry, and potentially to use other monk benefits, is what I'm looking for -- but there's no good way to do that in Pathfinder (aside from the aforementioned Zen Archer, who just gets this benefit with bows).
Eberron (3.5e) had a set of feats that provided the ability to add specific weapons to the monk special weapon category. Something like this would be nice.

PHB p145: "Monk: A monk weapon can be used by a monk to perform a flurry of blows."
Whether this qualifies it for any other monk abilities isn't stated, but I'm pretty certain it does.
Edit: in fact I don't think it grants proficiency - just the ability to use it as a monk weapon.
As for adding new weapons to the list I seem to remember the game says you can call it something else so long as it's mechanically identical - so 'Claymore' instead of '2-handed sword' etc. That should cover anything you need flavour-wise. I doubt you'll get a d10 or d12 weapon with flurry given the Temple sword is already Exotic.

Page 145 of the Pathfinder Core Book is just descriptions of weapons and does not say anything about the Monk.
Page 57 does day this, however:
Starting at 1st level, a monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action. When doing so he may make one additional attack using any combination of unarmed strikes or attacks with a special monk weapon (kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, and siangham)
The six weapons listed there are the only ones right now that qualify as special monk weapons.

See Advanced Player's Guide p. 177. The table of weapons clearly states "monk" under the Special column for brass knuckles, cestus, and temple sword.

Certain benefits (e.g. the aforementioned bonus feats for the Weapon Adept) can only apply to a "monk weapon." This is a special category of weapons with which the monk gains specific additional bonuses. The core bonus is the ability to perform a flurry of blows with that type of weapon, but modifications to the monk class or certain magic item properties often call upon "special monk weapons," which is a narrower category than "all weapons with which the monk is proficient."
To put it another way, if I want my monk to use a guisarme, that's trivial -- I just take an Heirloom Weapon guisarme, or spend a feat on Martial Weapon Proficiency, or take a level in a class that grants proficiency with martial weapons. This guisarme is not, however, a "special monk weapon," which means that it cannot be used for a flurry of blows, nor is it eligible as the Weapon Adept's special bonus feat weapon.
Currently there is no way to extend the list of "special monk weapons" to add this hypothetical guisarme to the list.
