Skirmisher + Spring Attack or Shot on the Run

Rules Questions

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

Skirmisher ability states that whenever a scout moves more than 10 feet in a round and makes an attack action he can deal sneak attack damage.

Using Spring Attack or Shot on the Run feat is a full-round action that let you do an attack during your movement.

Attack action is a standard action that grant a melee or ranged attack.

So when you are using Spring Attack or Shot on the Run feat, the attack is part of the full-round action.

The question: is this attack still eligible to deal sneak damage with skirmisher ability, even if it's not granted by an attack action?

As I recall an attack action can be made a standard or full round action, if it would have said make an attack as a standard action it would not be allowed.

It also would be very silly to not allow these feats to work.

I'll have to look in my book to be sure though.

I don't think they are allowed by RAW. That said it might be perfectly reasonable to allow it anyway.

You could combine it with Vital Strike, which counts on an attack action made, and not just an attack.

I already had this kind of "discussion" concerning Vital Strike, and it was generally found that *Shot on the run* and *Vital Strike* could be combined, so I guess this could be allowed aswel.
Although it does makes me squeezy the way overpowered things usually do...

Since Spring Attack is a full-round action, you can't.
