I need to hire someone part time, and all I am getting for applicants are kids and ..... older ladies who have no idea how to sell what we sell. Argh! I need an open minded, at least not un attractive, 30 year old with some customer experience, who is comfortable with new registar systems, and is only looking for 10-20 hours a week, nights and weekends. Reliable transportation a must!
does it have to be a female?

Well, maybe, while a man can explain lingerie as well as a woman, men are not hired in a clothing store for that department because ladies do not feel comfortable getting a bra fitting from a man. Who would blame them. Same goes for certain other, "accessories" that a lady may feel more comfortable speaking with another lady about. As such I did not know if it was just a general practice in hiring ladies.
As with most video stores here of a more adult nature tend to hire men, especially for night shift, not that I am a big patron or anything, just for the safety factor.

True enough - I have a 6'6 Armenian friend who applied at Victoria's Secret maybe...6 times? The last few times he went in and caused a scene about the "neo-feminist agenda" and how he just wanted to "feel pretty" (admittedly, the goal was never to GET the job, but he certainly wasn't ever even in the running.)

I smiled, but I always do that when discussing such things. I genuinely enjoy sex on both clinical and personal levels, and I find that smiling and even laughing about the topic makes everyone more comfortable and eager to share, provided it is a laugh with not a laugh at. That said, i also get into stone serious discussions regarding vibrators and other such toys regarding safety as well as the latest innovations in the industry.

Oh that's cool. Color me naive, but those weren't the first questions that sprung to mind, then agian I'm pretty laid back about that stuff so maybe that's why. That has to be an interesting line of work. That's funny about finding male help, I've always seen a 50/50 mix in those places, but I'd imagine most men would find it a bit less threatening with a female seller.

Put me firmly in the "Don't like MATHZ" camp. I'm great with basic math, I might even enjoy it, but all the higher level stuff just leaves me feeling silly. Now plop some classic lit or philosophy down in front of me and my eyes light up like a kid with a new toy, but math and I never got along well.

You want to know what is funny, I have worked for them. Part time one winter stocking the shelves in the back with stock. They needed someone who could lift the boxes. It was for 2 months.

Now be honest, how many of you laughed?
I smiled, but I always do that when discussing such things. I genuinely enjoy sex on both clinical and personal levels, and I find that smiling and even laughing about the topic makes everyone more comfortable and eager to share, provided it is a laugh with not a laugh at. That said, i also get into stone serious discussions regarding vibrators and other such toys regarding safety as well as the latest innovations in the industry.
blush awww! Thanks!

F@@+ that. Let me know if anything important was discussed.
And Math is FUN!
Yes. I save my math homework for last cause it helps me de-stress. :)
et tu, Jess Door?
Heh. I'm a computer engineer. Not liking numbers would make that...problematic.
I read physics books for fun.
Read anything good lately?

That has to be an interesting line of work. That's funny about finding male help, I've always seen a 50/50 mix in those places, but I'd imagine most men would find it a bit less threatening with a female seller.nathan blackmer wrote:Solnes wrote:waiiiiiit a minute, where do you work??!?Solnes wrote:Now be honest, how many of you laughed?Mac Boyce wrote:I don't need some guy laughing at our male customers in to buy things like pumps and rings.Solnes wrote:Well, that counts all of FAWLtY out....Crimson Jester wrote:Thats illegal. (No we do not rent dvd's, no we do not have viewing booths, no we do not model the lingerie, no we do not demo the novelities.)
Think of us as Victoria Secrets with toys and lubes.
Maybe you are one of those mature mens i was talkin' about? ;)
It is an interesting line of work. Fun, and exciting, all the customers are looking for fun things to do, so are usually in good spirits. Its retail, but more fun.

Just math and science or would you also like me to include some good history and fiction books?
