I heard that those type of mushrooms may have some therapeutic benefit. I'll wait for the research to be completed.
Tons.
Cluster headaches and drug resistant depression have huge results according to studies in Europe, where it isn't the second most falsely demonized drug that has been wrongly prohibited as a schedule 1 like our idiot govt did...

Oh, my, GOD! They killed Disneyland!!!
Yeah.
The NBA suspended the rest of the season last night. Two players have tested positive.
The NCAA has determined the March Madness tourney will continue, but no fans in the stadium beyond essential personnel and "limited family" of the players.
Disney.
That's how serious.

My alternative response was "do you want Zuggtmoy? Cause that's how you get Zuggtmoy".
... fair, yeah, Zuggtmoy sucks the big one.
I heard someone was hoarding mushrooms here.
No, alas. No hording. I can get you a pasta dish, though.
*achoo! sniff!*
Here it is!

Well, woooooooow....
(1) I work from home anyway, so my life hasn't been particularly disrupted.
(2) Impus Major has been informed that he'll be taking his classes online for the rest of the semester.
(3) GothBard is seeing a stronger and stronger push at her work for everyone to work from home for the duration.
And 15 minutes ago we were told the neighboring school district has asked its teachers to prepare lesson plans for at-home students for the rest of the semester, so Impus Minor may soon follow.
By the end of the month, the whole family may be working from home.
We'll see whether we drive each other crazy...

But, yeah, my Eldest is preparing to do it from home, "just in case" - it's so "just in case" that they're cancelling Friday just so teachers can learn how to do it (though the kids are allowed to stay at school).

All I know is the last time I did magic mushrooms the General and I spent an hour on a glass elevator watching the sunset(that went to three floors) and then spent the rest of the night melting Ace of Base and Lynch Mob CDs to kitschy candles we bought by the bag full from Saint Vincent DePaul while listening to Pink Floyd and Oingo Boingo.
Good times!

Main job is still up and running. People are coming here to get away from being at home, which is understandable considering both population and building location.
Second job is still up and running. People are keeping an ear to the ground as working from home is a real possiblity, but noone is panicking, and lots of snarky humor is keeping spirits up.
With the noted exception of attacks on asians and the semi brawl that occurred on the train the other night, I am proud of my neighbors as noone is panicking.
I AM concerned about a rush on food and such if we all shut down for a couple of days due to the fact that we cant ALL go to the grocery store simultaneously. Also, I am unsure of internet being able to handle everyone watching porn simulatanously.

GothBard didn't send me the link, because apparently it was NSFW, but apparently Pornhub is giving free subscriptions to everyone in Italy for the duration of the quarantine there.
Gotta be doin' somethin'...

Wow... looks like we may be getting refunds for the concert Impus Major decided to skip after all. Our governor issued an executive order.
What's interesting to me is that I'm 99.9% certain he doesn't have the authority to do that, even with his emergency powers, so it'll be interesting to see how all the club scenes and concert venues react to this. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of clubs around here that can hold more than 250 people.
And are they really going to let only 249 in the door?

Woow...
- Kentucky has closed all its schools
- Our neighboring school district is making plans to close within the next week or two
- OUR school district is still making sure all the sporting events are proceeding, even though all other extracurricular activity is canceled.
I thought I left this s*** back behind in the 80s, at least in the Bay Area.

The American Montessori Society annual conference tomorrow has been canceled. Now instead of attending, all of our faculty are having an all-day meeting on campus about how to run remote class sessions for all of our students and how we might go about building home learning kits to send home if need be.
In the space of a day and a half, I've gone from "This is all overblown hysteria" to "Ohmygod we're all going to DIE." Also I had a panic attack in our staff stand-up meeting in the kitchen this morning that I did my best to hide. Not lying, it was right after my boss started to cry in front of all of us as she was giving her morale-boosting big speech.
Holy carp.

This is what you need to read.
It's not that the coronavirus is going to kill everyone; it's that hospitals are already running at 90-100% capacity because of the flu, so we just don't need a second flu adding on to it. Think of it like a stacking bonus; it's just overkill. People need to change their behavior to slow down the transmission rate. That's it.

My district hasn't closed yet (we're on spring break atm), but our super did tell us that the county does have the authority to order a closure...with a follow-up email that there is some debate as to whether we would have to make up missed time. This email earned another pointless reply all because of course it did.

This seems like the least appropriate time to say it, but here goes anyway. Books don't need bandwith. Have they considered reading something for the articles?

All I can say is that after playing Plague Inc., I realize how badly this is going. You need to keep your head down and spread to Greenland, Iceland, and Madagascar BEFORE you draw attention to yourself.

Principal emailed that the high school basketball tournament has been canceled. One of the students replies-all to ask if we get out of school, too.
...though I've been reading enough of their writing lately to just be thankful that it was at least a complete, grammatically correct reply all with actual capitalization and punctuation...

It's the little things in life.
1) don't currently have a fever
2) wife trimmed mustache so I no longer have that drawn into my mouth whenever I eat almost anythingwhatsoever
3) kiddo had the best time at NASA! ... and he used his money to buy his brother (and himself) a bouncy ball. XD
Life is so much better, right now. :D
I mean, granted, it's almost midnight, I'm thrust back into wakefulness by a jerk body clock and I'm deeeeefinitely not entirely finished with this whole sick thing (even if I'm so totally finished with this whole sick thing), but it's a good place to be, over-all.

funny you should say that- I just discovered one of my oldest and most influential carnal comics in my study. I'll read the old comic and compare it with modern knowledge, and see where things stand.

No. No it isn't. (Takes an extra Allegra.)
The South bites.
