Also, Isawa Aki, my Pheonix-clan shugenja got married to Iuchi Yoru, Unicorn-clan shugenja played by said player.
She got an unexpected bonus in the form of a ghost of my grandmother, deceased Mistress of Void, who after some grumbling on me marrying an Unicorn, started pestering us about Void-wielding heir.
she should have married a daigotsu!

I know nothing about 3.5 so I will not comment. I only know pathfinder and 5e(partially). I dislike the ambiguity in 5e - because generally when things have been GM fiated, I've ended up with the short end of the stick. And kittens are what they live.
I can't function in an environment that doesn't have rules on what you can or cannot do.
As such I will only take actions that there are rules supporting that you can take that said action.
So in 5e I try to stick with things that are more "solid" and have rules explanations for.
Still irritated at the module that didn't tell me how many pirates I was supposed to throw at the party in the tavern.
Anyway it never got down to fighting. It ended up in a drinking competition that got the pirates drunk and the party a tad tipsy.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now I need to play FTL again. Sigh. EDIT: for the link!
I love FTL.

But I genuinely was joking. I'm trying to be respectful of people who are upset by the change. I'm also upset, if accepting. I remember when I was not accepting. At the moment, there is no way forward for those who want to keep going with 3.x, unlike ten years ago. But there are a number of people who I greatly dislike complaining, which makes being understanding a much greater burden.
No use getting upset at the changes. Paizo will do what they will, so if you don't like the system, then don't switch to it. I don't care since I'm not in PFS, and I don't even play on the boards now. If you're GMing you have the right to implement any system you like - players, if they chose not to accept those terms, well, don't play in my game right?

We are not nearly there, yet. We are playing before the Scorpion's Coup.

Both =) I am greedy guts it's no lie, I am a greedy guts I can't deny.
Besides I suspect my Dad and I ran their local hawker store out of frogs by the end of our stay... Lol.
The hawker was like on the last day.. Urm, let me check if I have any more frogs left... He did manage to produce a nice plate of stir fried frogs though.

One of the first mechanics offerings I want to do is just a book of Anti/Paladin archetypes covering all sorts of concepts and alignments. Guaranteed to either make a ton of people happy or utterly piss everyone off.

No-no. You need to make LG paladins who are necromancers. That is what will finally push everyone over the edge.

Nothing says "awkward" like sending your 13-year-old son your campaign journal wherein a bunch of shut-in 16-year-old human paladins were hitting on your gnome.
I think I'm going to give him an eye twitch...

"Although experts have not yet determined exactly where the out-of-control module will land, an Aerospace report detailed that it will likely re-enter somewhere in the northern U.S. states, parts of South America, northern China, the Middle east, central Italy, northern Spain, New Zealand, the south of Africa or Tasmania in Australia."
That's a lot of area. Probably should have just said "We don't know yet" and left it at that.

I deliberately picked the least contentious article in the magazine for current events today to cool down after the last heated one we did.
So they, of course, turned it into duel of honor over whether it's said "soda" or "pop."
Yeah, um, depending on where you are in the U.S., that's a less safe topic than politics.

Yeah I had to get out of the playtest forum.
Just once, just once, I'd like to be able to have an internet discussion with like-minded people without some opposition supporter barging in and claiming we need to break up the "echo chamber" for the greater good. (THE GREATER GOOD.)
Is that really so wrong to wish for?
This is the internet. People don't come here for reasonable discussions. They come here to argue with people they don't know.
Yes. Yes it's wrong to wish for. Because Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor and that does not make sense.

I was playing 3.5 when Wizards came out with 4th edition. It didn't impress me. The core of an RPG should be Role-playing. Take that out, and you might as well be playing a miniatures-based Wargame.
Having played Warhammer 40k and Battletech, I must disagree with you.
Both of those games, particularly Warhammer, have rules in place for roleplaying. 40k has an entire section of their book devoted just to it, which is why the WH40K books contain so much fluff and setting material.

At least you're not as bad as my BF. He'd probably say more lube...
Anyway I think your boys are due some biology lessons.
Oh, no, it wasn't my boys playing. The GM was very accurately playing a bunch of 16-18 year old boys who had been trapped in a single house for a decade. Having once been a teenage boy, I think the GM played them very accurately.
And getting to roleplay out the exasperated, "Oh, for gosh' sake what's WRONG with you?!?!?" was just all kinds of fun.

In a heavy focus and retool along those lines, however, it rejected many of the ideas that had long given D&D its self-identity, especially within specific campaign settings.
Well said, Tac.
As FAWLT's resident 4e fan, I get why some fans don’t like it, but it fulfills the promise that D&D has implicitly made since day 1 – an action-adventure role-playing game. It’s the first and only edition to go about that goal in a neat and intentional way, and it fulfills that promise with very few quibbles on my part. I also get why PF fans like PF – I loved its predecessors as much, and I very would very much love a 3e/PF-based edition that is more concerned with some specific design ethos than with being D&D.
Anyhow, I've had fun playing PF with Freehold & Co on a couple of occasions, and I have one AP for conversion/analysis purposes. But otherwise Paizo has become a purely social / game-theory forum for me, rather than the forum & company of a game I want to play. In part because I'm much more experimental than the Paizo dev team, but also in part because of the animosity and condescension that fans continue to direct toward 4e.

I assume that the gnome is female? Else.. Eh I don't want to think about it. Not to mention a gnome is small, and a human is medium, uh how do you get around the fitting issue?
I quite literally just got the Book of Passion I backed on kickstarter, along with my own campaign setting where halflings regularly get it on with humans AND my new favorite webcomic where a halfling girl discovers her carnal appetite within and without her people. I am ready for your queries.

Since humanoids are built proportionally, a halfling would have a hole befitting of a halfling's sized one eyed trouser snake. A human's one eyed trouser snake would be bigger then the said hole, and since a solid has a fixed shape and volume, how would you fit a larger solid into a smaller hole? I know holes get a little bigger if the female in question is aroused, but there is a limit to body elasticity. Alternatively the human could use the mouth instead for his one eyed trouser snake, but I'm not sure how much the throat can expand either for that.
With regards to lubrication: What kind of slip and fall deeper incidents could happen?
