I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set this thread on fire...

I love it when this happens. I'm talking about something with a group of people. I mention that I like some aspect of something, and get ignored/bulldozed by the conversation, talking about something else (usually something bad--today's example was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls). Then, I get frustrated, and start venting about an aspect of the subject that I hate. The crowd stands enraptured for about ten minutes while I preach stentorian from the mount. Finally, after the dust clears, I ask The Question:

Stop being so negative. Jeez. <joking>

Think of it this way: people don't hear what you're saying. They're hearing your voice. You can say all the right things and still come off as not knowing what you're talking about, being wrong, or negative just by saying something/anything. I just figure it as a lack of critical thinking on the other person's part, and typically that default bares fruit. Sad isn't it? Now that is negative.

Political:

Does he really say this? I have never heard him speak such. I have other issues with Ron Paul, but now that I think of it he was a candidate I never looked all that closely at. Or rather as close as I did at Say Palin when she came out of basically nowhere with the VP nod. Now I try to stay as far away from her as I can.

as an aside, I think we have shied away from religion in schools way too much. If only in an political or even historical manner. It is hard to have an accurate knowledge of current events or any major historical events without understanding religion and its impact on history.

Western literature would also be vastly different without the influence on the Bible.

But I digress

I'd heard this was true from a lot of people, but Patrick Curtin says no. I'm waiting for him to answer my question as to what Paul did actually say, and I'm genuinely interested in getting to the bottom of this. Right now, I can honestly have no idea.

Honestly, I know virtually nothing about Ron Paul. When he's mentioned, people always say one of two things to me:

1. He's a religious nut who doesn't believe in evolution.
2. He's awesome and should be president.

I know he's a Libertarian and supports legal marijuana and gay marriage. Other than that, I've got nothing.

Unexpected gaming tonight. Should have been great, but it fell a bit flat. Mostly roleplaying session and we were all too low energy. Finally got a combat at the end when I was too tired to even remember what tactics were, and it was one of those you know this combat would be really tough if the DM didn't always fricking roll 20s, but as it is we were lucky to be able to flee for our lives.:/
