*Dig dig digs through snow*

Why do i have a sudden urge to see Disneys Frozen?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Do it. You won't regret it.

Speaking of snow, I think our warning here is off. Going to be in the low 50s all the rest of the week. Slightly windy, overcast, maybe some rain.

Autumn weather in winter? Yes Please!

Anyone here ever fiddled around with some versions of RPG Maker?
I have succumbed to the alluring headache of RPG maker, yes. What do you want to know of it?

How easy would you say it is to use?

I've had plans for an RPG with some eight bosses (and an optional boss with five mini-bosses guarding him) and six playable party members along with the protagonist. The main character is a shrine maiden who is given the task of defeating the other Japanese deities, who have grown complacent and neglectful of their duties while also having a hand in sealing away the main character's chosen goddess. On the way, she meets a deva and an asura who decide to help her out, all the while trying to steer her to the path of good or evil respectively.

chummer I've been out of the RPG Maker scene for years. Ease of use depends on which one you're using. Provided certain jerks aren't still in the community, you can get a lot of info on some of the old sites... Which I just realized are on the computer that died... Damn. Orthos ninjaed me in every other way. I need to see which one I have on the net book.
Out of curiosity which sites did you frequent? I was never on any of the 'big' RPG Maker sites, just smaller ones like War of the Magi (which admittedly was the better-known of the two, if only because RPG Advocate [guy who translated RM2k3] hung out there) and Fated Circle. Neither of which are, as far as I know, still functional.

God. Can't remember. I know it was one of the big sites, and a huge fight broke out that fractured the community along importer/non importer lines - a contingent that hated the RPG maker that came out for ps1 made regular complaints about people coming to the site asking for advice for that one specifically. Due to erratic modding and programmer elitism things got bad, and I left the scene. Tried to get back into things with the other domestic rpg makers but things simply were not the same. The first one was the best and although I had something going with the one on my netbook, I kinda forgot about it.

What was it? Rpg maker Xp or something? I can't remember...

Sorry to all who have snow. My area is completely clear, though.

And today is one of those "fun" untrabusy day. Well, better than the ultraviolent days.

As long as it's not ultraviolet.

Damn you, Sol!

Well that was a brilliant TV Series (Ultraviolet, starring Jack Davenport).

But a horribly boring movie. (Weren't Idris Elba in the TV-series as well?)

In other news, it's a quarter to four, and I'm slightly tipsy. Yay for Ye Olde English cider and pizza!

Freehold DM wrote:

Yeah, RMXP was the one that came out after RM2003. I never got into it because it required actual coding knowledge, whereas 2000 and 2003 had the coding built-in through a selection menu, and all the actual scripting was done behind-the-scenes by the engine itself.

This may be the cider talking, but the Young Indiana Jones episode where he's in Africa and working with a bunch of old codgers against the Germans are really good fun.

It's the Phantom Train of Doom!

You used to be able to buy it off Enterbrain's site in Japanese, I'd be pretty surprised if you couldn't anymore, unless they just plain don't sell it. And there were translated patches or retools floating around the internet that you could probably still pick up with Google. I haven't looked in years though.

Silver Crusade

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Lesson learned from last nights PFS game, There are packs of chihuahuas running wild in northern mexico, apparently these "swarms" swell to over 1100 in size.

I am so using a chihuahua swarm against my group, just gotta figure out the particulars damage special abilities and such any suggestions

This has funny connotations to me because Scint's character Roisin has been referring to the monsters we keep running into in our Monday ROTRL game as "Hell Chihuahuas".

So I'm sitting here imagining a slavering horde of Sinspawn running across the Mexican desert.

Silver Crusade

Your group is walking across the osirion desert at night, when off in the distance you hear the sound of high pitched yipping. Is it jackals? NO its a pack of red eyed Hell Chihuahua's

man. So many memories.

The RPG maker debacle and my inability to get help with it is what made me take my own campaign setting that much more seriously and increased my time with tabletop message boards, including paizo. . It's interesting, the roads life takes sometimes.

Right, that was it! I've never seen anyone on TV more gobsmacked.

We're looking at visiting the zoo and perhaps the botanical gardens and natural history museum today. It looks like Denver has a major city park similar to Forest Park in St. Louis.

Ain't gonna let a little 17F below cold snap stop us. The zoo should be fairly empty today. We'll take our sketch books and cameras and have a good old time. In fact, annual membership for the two of us costs about 2-1/2 visits worth, so might be worth the fee.

As one of Scottish derivation, I approve of the use of every bit of nourishment from an animal. After all, we eat haggis.

I get called a heretic all the time for this but I've always disagreed.

But I'm also the guy who prefers white chocolate so I'm used to being called a heretic on that subject.

No. Not a heretic. More of a poor misguided wretch.
