She leaned over and kissed Temur on the mouth. He kissed back, ignoring all the wisdom in his head about what a bad idea this was. He forgot, for a moment, the pain of bumps and bruises and a night spent hunched in the cold, the grit of grave dirt on his skin.
They pulled a little apart, but not fully.
"What an odd custom that is."
Her breath brushed his face. "Do you dislike it?"
"I don't know," he said. "Let's try it again."
Dawwwwww

And Temur saw the hordes of assassins, who must have attacked at dawnlight, swarming over the walls on ropes that still dangled there. These he killed at every turn, mostly with arrows. Bansh with her hooves and teeth shredded every one that came within striking distance of her, and Temur shot down those that would strike from afar.
His stolen quivers ran dry of arrows. He was groping for the hilt of the short sword when the mare turned and swung another quiver into his hands, the strap gripped between her teeth.
In surprise, Temur caught it. His surprise was not enough, though, to keep him from drawing an arrow from the quiver, nocking it, drawing, and loosing.
And again. And again.

Nicely done, Icy. I'll return the favor when my group finally catches up - we're on downtime between chapters two and three now =)
It's been an interesting ride so far!
Can't read the spoiler (because Orthos will murder me), but congratulations on completing the AP!

Last recreational Taiko class for the summer. Boo.
But the instructor said, since I have attended every single one for the last 3-4 years, and I can't attend the Beginner performance track class because it interferes with church, she will see if she can help me test up to Intermediate on the performance track!
WOOT!

Same. Well, add an "again" to the murdering.

It would be "again" for any of you. As of the Hargulka fight everyone in the party has died at least once. A couple of you twice =)

Well, finished the computer chageover now. I've got everything all set up on my new computer (yay! After the fiasco with the Microsoft store I was starting to think I'd never get it...never order from them. It took them over a month to tell me the item was out of stock and that was only after the third time I called them...Amazon got it to me three days after I ordered it.) And I cleaned all of my stuff off my old computer and set it up for the kidlet who is thrilled to pieces. :)

Good morning to all my FAWTLY brethren! Happy Wednesday!
Been busy - settling into the new job, cleaning and unpacking, getting new stuff for the house. Still don't have Internet and TV yet. Hopefully I can start to work on that maybe today or by Friday. Finally got a fridge last night. Had to cancel the one I had ordered from Conn's after delivery delay #3. Went to Lowe's instead and bought one I could take out the door with me. A nice one - LG, and a special with $300 off.

Morning everyone... Ok, maybe not so morning.
Late night full of dreams. One in which I was ancient mage looking for some pregnant woman while phasing through a series of buildings. Another in which I was observing police convention that coincided with something I don't recall... Series of murders, perhaps. Third one involved some rooms and female character offering to give her room/apartment to another family if their child would get engaged... This would help them develop business in that building. Either the female offering or the one to which offer was presented looked like older Maisie Williams.

Lowe's is good for stuff like that. My family tends to always go there first, Home Depot second (if at all), then elsewhere on the rare occasion we can't get it at the first two.

Otherwise - new job is cool so far, although they limit what can be done on the Internet. So there'll be less morning posting for me. Especially since the phone is hit or miss with signal reliability these days. Stoopid sprint.
Gosh darn private business that actually care about productivity! They have a lot of nerve.
In seriousness, how are you liking the private sector?

If everything goes through, what is the next step?
We pack up our van and car with all our remaining possessions, sell what doesn't fit, and drive to Denver to live with friends for a bit while we find jobs and finish up the bankruptcy paperwork. Once we have jobs and a bit of savings, we find a place to live.
