Even if nothing will come of it, it wasn't a bad idea. You started out without a date, so you've not lost anything. Besides, unless she's not already got a boyfriend you could still change her mind. Give it a bit of time, act nice around her, if she seems to soften up - try again.
(And if you get a second no, still act nice - but don't ask again, that's where you run the risk of coming of as a bit creepy, if she changes her mind she can ask you out.)

Don't join a choral society/sacrificial cult. From what I've heard, their bake sales suck.

Well, what Max thought would be an audition for the Choral Society actually turned out to be a meeting of the Chloral Society gathering to discuss the upcoming summer and increased use of pools. And, across town, Jeffery's random comment about fleeing Winter brought angry condemnations from his neighbor, old Mrs. Winter. Meanwhile, Gary's attempt at mystically increasing the chance of snow led to....No, wait! That's my soap opera.
