In my (admittedly limited) experience, "whatever" generally means they are disinterested, and "too sweet" means they think you're putting on an act to impress them. Just beware "bless your heart". Usually that means "you're an idiot".

Any time somebody says "bless your heart," I consider's them to be fightin' words.

JFK......I think it kinda means "kiss my ass," or it can be actually sincere.

So much of the actual meanings southern conversation depends on the actual context of the conversation.

And state of inebriation sometimes.

And, fightin?
Just a hobby, to many folks.

Back from session. One death. This time it wasn't I but our party halfling rogue... One critical hit from a scythe-wielding reaper-like undead took her from full hp to -21. At least it was a clean cut. The true hero of the fight was celestial badger summoned by the priest. She stated that she'll make a new character as she refused to be reincarnated after 2 of 2 reincarnations ended with PCs returning to life as gnomes. We could sell her equipment to raise her but she prefers to create new character. Well, the party will sell her equipment to pay off her share of treasures and house we bought last session.

What a day! The bathroom is now painted (red!), but I have not yet been able to successfully reassemble the toilet. I'm a smart person, though. I'll figure it out tomorrow. Plumbing shall not defeat me!

What shade of red? Because that's a pretty intense color for a bathroom.
This shade of red. And yes, it is an intense color, but that's what I wanted. I'm very pleased with the way it looks. I still have to do the ceiling and trim, and get new accessories (towel racks, toilet paper holder, etc.) but the biggest part of the job is over now. :)

I like it. It's bold.

What's even more interesting is who I was playing it with.

And finally, while the guy who's attempting to create the simplest My Little Pony RPG was a really nice person, I'm not quite sold where it's a game where one can have 12 to 13 year old girls play side-by-side with mid 30's males w/o it being considered creepy.

I had quite a bit to drink Saturday night and I still couldn't be convinced.

P.S. I was a cranky mule by the name of Mustaine. Heh.

And for me, the week began with fog thick as pea-soup, which meant you could barely see the lightning above (have I somehow ended up on Venus or something?), and a race against a bleeding deluge on my way home. I think I'll spend the rest of today inside if I can.

Made a complete f$%~ing ass of myself today playing drunken Pathfinder, and then came within seconds of puking my guts out in front of a cute girl. I'm a real winner.

Morning FAWTL

New Nightwish album Imaginaerum is awesome, go check it out. Bought it yesterday and now burning it to a blank so I can blast it in the car on the way to work.

Leaving a bit early so I can grab food on the way. Cy'all in 45 min or so.

I was holding the new kitten and petting her while she was purring. I then looked at her and asked her "Are you an attention whore?" Her response was "Meow." I then asked "Is that a yes or a no?" She remained silent.

Simple answer. Stop drinking. It does not solve ANYTHING. ~shrugs~ Sadly, the simple answers can be the hardest to fix.

Is the new singer as good as Tarja? I have loads of the albums, but there always seems to be a few filler tracks - or something missing.

She's different, that's for sure. Whether or not she's as good is very personal, there are a LOT of people out there who don't like her simply because of how different her style is from Tarja - Annette is not as operatic, more akin to the singer from Lacuna Coil. I like her, but I'm also heavily biased against Tarja due to the reasons the band ejected her. Love her singing, but completely understand why they gave her the boot and don't feel at all sorry for her. But yeah, can't really say whether or not she's better just because it's so subjective due to their styles being so different.

The new album is very dark-fairy-tale inspired. Apparently there's a theatrical companion - sort of a mini-movie - that goes along with the album in the works. (Or already done, I'm not certain and haven't looked.) As always the orchestras and the lyrics are awesome, but that's a given. =) That's more what drew me to Nightwish than the singer... I LOVE orchestral rock/metal, ever since my dad gave me the Metallica: S&M concert album. (Yes I know this is begging for a Urizen comment.)

Filler tracks are the nature of the beast, I'm afraid. The album has a lot of good tracks (Storytime, Ghost River, I Want my Tears Back, Scaretale, Arabesque, Rest Calm, Last Ride, Song of Myself [Another 13-min-plus monster - not 100% gold, there's a long bit of just talking in the middle that's easily forgettable unless you're listening to it, but the rest is awesome], and the title track), but there are as always a couple that are just kind of there (Turn Loose the Mermaids, Slow Love Slow [though if you like a kind of early-jazzy feel, this one's good]).

Thank you! I've spent way too much of my life living in rental apartments and houses with boring, bland, beige walls and carpets. Now that I own my house, I may be swinging a little too far toward the opposite extreme, but at least I won't have boring walls anymore! Or at least, I won't after I get through all the redecorating-- which is an interminable process, given the resources I can afford to devote to it. :)

Do you think we will ever reach a point where people will look back and shake their heads that we ever viewed rebooting as a legitimate fix for computer problems?

I imagine it will be like those of us who can remember blowing into the bottoms of Nintendo game cartridges or rewinding cassette tapes with a pencil.
