Now just $5. Genuine Sharoth eyes.

Silver Crusade

The rule is that you have to dance, but there should be extra points for helicoptering.

The Star Wars Old Republic MMO has non-consensual PVP areas, but they can't take your stuff. They get XP for killing you, but your gear always stays intact. Don't know about any others.

It looks like I should have brought a lot of singles today.

Honestly, Ryan is trying to turn Pathfinder into EVE Online. But PF is so much more than that. PF is based off of D & D, NOT EVE Online.

Ok. At lunch taking a break.

Re: Kickstarter and pfo, folks I am well and truly sorry. I didn't put cash into the Kickstarter, but that was only due to ill timing. PVP seems to bring out the absolute worst in everyone, and I am with the consensus here that feels this is the wrong direction for the game. Still, I hope some people are able to have fun with the game while others are able to get any refunds they wish for. And gank has been used in gaming circles since cyberpunk 2020.

Re: today, is there a full moon tonight? Because its been CRAZY both on the boards and at work . lots of ppl here are either hyper or leaning towards manic, there is an undercurrent of chaos that seems to swell into a wave of frenetic activity all over the place. I forgot my anti Manhattan bike lock at home, and so I will actually be storing my bike in my office office at the first job today and take the train to the second job. Also of this is with the blessing of my supervisor, who I normally cant stand. Still, not looking a gift horse in the mouth on this. For now, Im nursing a tamarind soda and waiting for the sun to come out.

Nope, nearly the opposite: Waxing Crescent according to weatherunderground.com

Yeah I lied, I had to post. I'm wicked pissed now

I am beyond disappointed about the PFO thing. We did contribute to the kickstarter and I was really looking forward to playing. Not so much anymore. Well, not really much I can do about it. :(

FHDM, sorry, the full moon is still eight days away. Not really sure what the excuse is for today's crazy.

And now it's time to tackle the dishes. WIsh me luck. I'll need it. I think they're developing sentience. :/
At least the kidlet is happily worn out after a trip to the park. So I don't have him bouncing off the walls.

And I just found out that I didn't get either lollipop chainsaw or game of thrones from gamefly, but another game on my list. Disappointing....

This can't be good for their business model, telling this large a portion of the playerbase to step off.

I think it's for the best really, I want to believe that Dancey and crew just didn't realize that there were people who contributed that weren't interested in the world-conquering/rivalry-building/knights-vs-bandits aspect of the game and just wanted to have a fun game set in Golarion about them and their friends kicking some monster butt and treasure-hunting. Benefit of the doubt and all.

But the constant comparisons to EVE do not paint a pretty picture on that attempt at an optimistic outlook.

Think they'd be willing to offer refunds for the people who want no more part of this? I'd probably keep mine in, I want the Thornkeep reward, but this has got to be galling for people who paid higher tier for a game they won't play.

F!~* it. Obviously if Dancey is this convinced PvP is so great
Then it's not going to be a game for me. I'm just pissed this little caveat wasn't clear before I spent a c note on the Kickstarter

I just deleted my post. At this point, Ryan has his mind made up. I think he is making a mistake, but at this point my view does not matter.

I have to ask - why eve? Why not another game?

Because Ryan is friends with Lisa. THAT is my opinion. And Ryan is VERY baised to the point of NOT caring about other peoples opinion. OTHERWISE, PVP would have been a much smaller part of PFO.

Probably because EVE is THE sandbox game, and sandbox is what they want PFO to be.

Also, if I get banned, then my post above will be the reason why.

Meh. I doubt we can get a Kickstarter refund, that ship has sailed. I guess the book will be fine, if it sucks as well I can always try to recoup my losses on eBay. I'm sure every teenaged boy with an inferiority complex and bully issues will be flocking to sign up

There are other ways to make a game sandbox like without making it EVE Online PVP is EVERYTHING type of game. Ryan just wants to make a fantasy based EVE Online game and PF fell into that trap.

Grand Lodge

I thought about pledging for the Thornkeep book, but then remembered I already have Rappan Athuk and don't need to spend MORE money on books right now.

PVP just sounds like a terrible idea. I deal enough with entitled twelve-year-olds trying to assert authority where they have none when they pay me to do that. I'm sure as heck not paying a monthly fee for more of my day job.

~sighs~ Ok. enough about the shipwreck that is Pathfinder Online.

you can add me to the "not much interest in PFO but was willing to try it with friends but not if it is PvP" crowd.

the whole thing and the guy in charge seems very very un-paizo-ish to me, I get a Wizards vibe from the whole PFO thing,

My fear is, if PFO is a desaster it could drag Paizo down with it

ups, sorry :-)

No no. I was saying that to MYSELF, not anyone else. Besides, I worry about the same thing, aeglos. Paizo is betting a lot on PFO.

I imagine they'd be intelligent enough to cut their losses and go back to making stuff that doesn't alienate half their target market.

But yeah, we're probably due for a subject change.

Alright, said my final piece and hid the forum. I'm out. Someone give me a heads-up if Dancey changes his mind.

So... howzabout them Rangers?

Same.

So...Rangers as in class or as in what is probably a sports team I don't know?

Any Rangers will do. ;)

(Although if there'd been a lot of Scots here we'd do well to avoid Glasgow Rangers.)

Grand Lodge

We could be talking Army Rangers.

FIFY.

or park rangers

FHDM

do you still remember the pic link?

Yeah I'm done too with that train wreck. It's all over but the trolling. I'll stick to EQ, no big loss. I wish I could cancel my Kickstarter pledge though

aah.! The time is almost upon us! I will have one for you soon!

One of my players made a joke about all the items having 'Ranger' tacked on in front. ('Ranger bars' for protein bars, etc.) He said "Everything is more hooah with ranger in front of it." I had a dwarven ranger/wizard in our CotCT game, so next session I said "He's a Ranger wizard. Everything is more hooah with ranger in front of it."

He was not amused.

Jokes are always hilarious until they're thrown back at you. Which is why I may or may not keep a tennis racket by the computer to send them right back.

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

Oh. I've been using my tennis racket incorrectly.

Those damn tennis rackets! When will people stop falling for them?

Hey, they're perfect for making certain someone gets served.

Booooooooooooo.

What the deuce? I do believe you have the advantage. And that is not meant to be a backhanded compliment.

And yeech. I really wish I could just lie down with a stack of books and a months worth of previously unseen DVD-boxes.

Quite a nice volley of puns even if I say so myself.
