I have a pc in game and was wondering for his sake what would be the best or even optimal build for a necromancer using PF products (sorry, we don't use any 3P stuff).
What would you folks suggest?
Go for *U2 music in the background* EN-ER-VATION - oooh-oooh-oooh :)
Spell penetration, greater spell penetration, maximise, perfected spell (at high levels) = -4 pr spell cast to a bad guy with little or no chance to save... (Ranged touch is usually easy, if not cast true strike first)

Depends on the style of necromancy and the level.
At 7th, a minion master can have legions of skeletons and the ability to drop a nuke in their midsts without hurting them (Such as Flaming Skeletons and Fireball).
A cleric based minion master has less in the way of damage, but better support via Channels and domain abilities.
If you're reffering to the Wizard(Necromancy) school, then see Abrar for advice there^.

I'm intrigued, tell me more about the minion master and his legion of undead who are immune to your nukes... :)
