New to PF, new PC Pally-stats not in stone-Advice please?

Advice

After using WoW as my D&D surrogate for a year....FINALLY a tabletop RPG group! It's been 9 years since I played any tabletop.

Just had my rolls watched and accepted, it was great luck if I was using old D&D standards, not sure about PF. Method is 2d6+6. I don't have much help since the only other pally player is not meeting yet.
The Setting is going to be Alternate Europe 1600. A Great Church in control with lessor churches and four forbidden classes. Otherwise by the book mechanically.
I have my characters basic motivations and history set up.
Half Elven leaning more human side. I am dedicated to a particular saint (diety) and wanting to prove my worth becuae of my background.
Very much Lawful Good.

The DM is thrilled that I am finally someone who doesn't pick casters (We will have a summoner, a sorceress, an alchemist and bard and a wizard starting this campaign). I used to play Clerics, Pallies or Cavaliers in old D&D play.

Variant: Warrior of Holy Light
I will be using a ranged weapon (longbow) and short sword/light shield or buckler. And will probably invest in the sword instead of mount.
Since stats are pretty much set in stone once chosen I wanted to be sure. I'll muddle through teh book for teh rest

What stats should I concentrate on? Is this a good allocation of them?
Str_17
Dex_18
Con_15
Int_12
Wis_15
Cha_18

Thx ahead of time

I would suggest changing to 12 to wisdom -- wisdom is the one stat you really won't need much and having the extra skill point would be useful.

First off, welcome to Pathfinder! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I'd swap out Dex n Con.
As for race, the extra feat and skill points from Human will be nice.
Unless you intend to multiclass, the half-elf isn't the greatest choice.
For another option to human, take a look at the 1/2 orc.

Looks good, what did you put your racial +2 into? cause paladins are amazing when they have 20 cha

but overall solid, they look similar to the elf paladin in my group, but he's going for wep. finesse w/ elven curve, and he's doing fine

First he's going archer so he needs the hight dex, otherwise i'd agree

2nd if you look int the APG there are things to switch the multiclass thing out

I saw him say he was using a longbow, but didn't assume that meant he was "going archer". Plate mail will limit his max dex bonus anyway.

I didn't consider the APG...

np, i hope i dint come off rude

I may switch to shortbow to allow for mounted use.

The sheet I was using from treasure trove doesn't add racials that I can see.
We are starting at level four with 6k to spend.
All but one other player have been playing this a long time.
I was adding to Charisma first, then Con with bonuses,
I havent figured how many skills....er feats either I am able to select nor which come with class gratis (if any)
Its been a long time since I played D&D, but this seems a bit mnore complicated than I remember in the creation process.
I have till next Sunday to have a base to offer the GM.

IS there a suggested XL based character creator that may be more complete with start stat calculations?

PS THANKS for all the suggestions so far.

The GM in paraphrase ( he said it nicer) likes his players to multiclass- prolly for the fact that 1/2 the players are often sporadic in coming so left players need to pick up slack...
