Cavalier with multiple mounts?

Rules Questions

Can a cavalier have multiple mounts simultaneously?
I am in a campaign playing an elven cavalier who was born on the coast and spends a lot of time in/around the sea. The DM allowed me to have a dolphin as a Mount (Class feature) since I spend so much time in the water and my character is closely allied with nearby merfolk. My question is, can I also have a horse as a Mount at the same time?

Is it game-unbalancing to have 2 different mounts (per the class feature) or is this acceptable?

thanks,

While you can have as many mounts as you want. Only one, however will be an animal companion style mount. The rest are normal types, just like everyone else.

+1.

At low level, you're better off with a heavy horse rather than a horse animal companion anyway :-P.

I will add however, the beast master ranger can do this with a few issues. One his animal companion is 3 levels lower then his level. Meaning if he is 5th level it is a 2nd level animal companion.

And 2: While he can have more then one they share level total. Meaning as above he has 2 levels of animal companion so he could have 1 animal companion or two 1st level animal companions.

Either way they are way weaker then say a druid or a cavilar's animal companion. Your Gm might allow this, but I would only allow it with all the drawl backs. Meaning you can have two much weaker animal companions.

If you 2 or more mounts no real bug deal use the idea form the beast master Ranger in the APG and take all mount and spreed them out how you like. Ie Cavalier level 6 would have 2 mount level 3. or 1 level six or 3 level 2. I would see this as big deal. but majorly weeker less hit points, save, BAB, ect so they would die much faster. In the lay out that you talked about one for water one for land and the two wold raly if ever bouth be in the same fight so the would be even weeker since you can not bring your full mount to the fight. Basicly gipping yourself so if I was your GM I fould say go for it. If you want to have mount that only 1/2 as strong as it should be go for it. Less power to you.

But If say you want 2 full mount. NO.
