I've been running online games via AIM and/or Skype, both 1 player-1 GM and groups of up to 4 adventurers for some time.
I've been itching to run my copy of Legacy of Fire or Kingmaker myself.
Interestingly, I have found the quality of RP in play by post games much higher than in any other medium I have RP'ed in. But each to their own eh.
I think it is due to the fact that in PbP you can actually think about what you would like to say rather than having to RP extemporaneously. When I'm writing in-character, it is fairly normal for me to go through a draft or two before posting to make sure that it is exactly what I want to say.
Note that Dark Maiden has specified that the game is to be online, not PbP. Its a recruitment for that kind of media, not a discussion on the pros or cons of PbP. On topic, please! =)

I'm going to make a completely friendly suggestion / observation here, I mean no disrespect in what I say, so remember that...
As a person who just stumbled across your post, I am slightly disappointed with its lack of subtlety... You are, of course, entitled to your preferences when it comes to the medium through which you Role Play by, but that does not mean you have the right to be dismissive of others for not playing your way. Try to be a little more... PC..

Rdrp Giving my opinion is staying on topic since he gave a personal opinion and I gave mine. If you don't want input on a topic, then don't bring it up the stubject in a post.
Dark Maiden I use MapTool, as does Alex who posted earlier. The video tutorials provided at rptools.net tell you 99% of what you need to know to get started.

Have used Maptools before, but been long enough that I'd need to spend a few hours learning to set it up again.
For the group I've been running with, we just image-ripped maps off Adventure Path PDFs and emailed it, since it was faster. I wouldn't recommend doing that with a group I've never worked with before, as the lack of minis becomes a problem. My group worked only because we used a chess-based naming system for the squares on a given map.

Fair statement- PbP is not everyones cup of tea. You should have left it there if you weren't looking for debate/

He gets it... Do you not see how that comment is a tad "F**k you" to people who like that style of Role Playing?
Oh, and as to the personal opinion? Have one, have many, that is up to you, it being personal and all. But personal opinion does not out weigh common courtesy and general manners now does it?
So yes, to drop the guise of being pleasant, that was quite ignorant.
