I'm DMing Legacy of Fire and one of my players expressed his intrest in taking the Genie Binder prestige class, located in End of Eternity, PF AP #22.
Now, I'm having some issues converting it to PF rules. First of all, it has a D6 HD. Since it was written for 3.5 and as I can see it's a class for wizards/clerics, I'm not sure whether it should remain D6 or boost it to D8.
Second of all, the feats. As far as I can see, no other prestige class has as a prerequisite feats like Persuasive etc. And 3 feats isn't a small investment. So, is the idea of prestige classes in PF to reduce the number of prerequisite feats (or at least include the feats that characters of that type would already have) that can be labeled... Well, not useless, but certainly less useful than others.
The issue I'm having is, whether to hand-waive the Negotiator feat (which doesn't even exist in PF) as a prerequisite or no?
By "RAW" you would match the hit dice to the BAB (poor bab means a d6 hit dice) reduce the skill requirements by 3, and leave the feats alone (after all you get more feats in pathfinder than you did in 3.5).
That covers the 'rules' question.
As to the rest -- I would suggest keeping either persuasive or negotiator and replacing the other with something that would still be useful (maybe spell focus(conjuration) for example).
Well, my question is more RAI-based. I want it to follow the same guidelines that other prestige classes follow and I checked most of them, and none are that focused on feats as prereq(not to mention that these feats are kinda mismatched). Most have prerequisites that classes already get (Endurance in case of Ranger prestige classes etc).
Perhaps replacing the Negotiator feat with some level of Diplomacy?
It already requires 4 ranks in Diplomacy, Knowledge (Nobility) and 11 ranks in Knowledge (The Planes).
Also, Negotiator, Craft Wondrous Items and Spell Focus (Conjuration).
