Ormak Kron |

Unable to contain himself any longer, Thoian bursts with excitement and curiosity.
”What’s it like growing up with a bunch of orcs? Where does your companion come from? Can you really track that well? Will it bite me if I try to touch it? Could you track a blood cougar through the mountains? Can you fly on a broom? Are orcs as savage and vile as my father told? Do they really eat the weak?
Taken aback some from the onslaught of questions, Ormak just blinks several times once Thoian clasps his hand over his mouth. Then he laughs, a good-natured sound. "My my, you are a curious one, aren't you? I've always been among orcs, so I don't know what not growing up around them is like. I suspect that my tribe at least, is not too different than most human villages. I'm the second best tracker in my tribe. Only my grandfather is better than me, but only because he's so dang old. I've tracked all manner of beasts through the mountains, across the hills and even down into the marshes a time or two. Some of them were even animals. While my people are savage, we are not vile. We worship Denev, the titan of the earth as our greatmother, and we strive to ease her suffering and pain. And no, we do not eat the weak, for that would in turn make us weak"
To Aldhelm he replies "You seem to take yourself a bit too seriously."

Tessara Omelian |

Tess looked away a bit during the discussion about religion and she stayed silent. Such things always made her umcomfortable, as she didn't give much credence to old wive's tales, as she thoguht of them. Most people didn't share her feelings on that topic, and long ago she learned to avoid that discussion entirely.

The sunlight falls upon the faraway snow capped peaks. It strikes them just right to give them a blaze of light almost as if they are on fire in the setting sun. Few bugs fly around but most do not seem to go near your camp ground. You hear a few howls in the night as of some large strange cat hunting for prey from the distance.
The wind changes directions and the snap of chill air causes many of you to pull your cloaks close around.
Is anyone mounted? Other than the wolf and Weasel what other animals are in the camp area? Does anyone light a fire?

Thoian Urthadar |

I walk, no mount here. I also do not have an animal companion or familiar. But seeing everyone else with one, I may feel left out if I don't. ;-) I also do not light a fire. I am still new to this adventuring business and don't want to make a fool of myself trying to start a fire.

Thoian Urthadar |

Thoian fidgets with his greatsword. Deciding nobody else is going to say anymore, he takes out his whetstone and begins to sharpen his blade. Looking at the rest of the group, he realizes everyone must be tired and exhausted from a long day of walking in the rain. "Perhaps we should decide on watch? I can take the middle watch so the spellcasters can get their proper sleep."

Tessara Omelian |

"My mind is racing, thinking about the map and what we discussed. Let me take first watch, then."

DM Jester |

Darkness falls and the light from your fire is slowly going down. The only noise is the occasional bird call in the distance and the sound of your companions breathing deeply. The air is crisp but has yet to turn cold. The stars are bright in the sky for the moon has not yet risen. The land is cold and dark.
Whomsoever is still awake and on watch please make a perception check

Ormak Kron |

Ormak gets up, stretches and says "Let me take the longest, darkest watch. My eyes are much better suited to that time of night." That being said, the Half-Orc doesn't go to sleep right away, instead pulling Thoian aside and talking to the apparent youngster about Denev, and his peoples worship of her.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 perception check

Guess that means I'm up too.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Tessara Omelian |

"Let's have two of us go investigate, while the other stays here to wake up everyone else if necessary."
I think there are three of us on this watch.

DM Jester |

Whisper the wolf stays in the protective area of tree, her Hackles rising she does not venture into the dark.
Those of you who have made your perception rolls All of you I think Notice a small form several hundred feat off in the night. Past where even dark vision can accurately even make out a form.
Ormak slips into the dark blending in with the shadows.
You sense more then see that there may well be more then one creature out in the night with you. However normal animals, owls and such seem conspicuously absent.

Ormak Kron |

Sensing what could be something dangerous out in the night, the Half-Orc moves slowly, and cautiously towards what he hopes is a small child. He pauses every so often to sniff the air, for any signs of danger.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 perception check. Don't forget Ormak has the Scent ability.

DM Jester |

Do I still hear the cry? or has it stopped?
What you hear now is the faint sound of crying only maybe 50 feat east of you in that small dark copse of trees. You are about 250 feat from the rest of the party but you think that the summoned creature called Searos is but just behind you in the dark

DM Jester |

Perception Check 1d20 + 15
Before you in the dark is a smallish creature. It seems much less "man" shaped this close. The smell is defiantly coming from near it.
The noise of crying seems to have stopped and all is eerily quite and still in the night

Belneiros Veloren |

Well I don't know if Ormak is close enough for my message spell, but if he is
Ormak
"Ormak you have another creature much larger, it seems to be watching you. It is a four legged creature crouched in the bushes. Come back as fast as you can"
To the rest of the group inside the tree
"It seem the hunter is being hunted, Ormak is in a BIG four legged mess, that he hasn't noticed yet" with a smirk "Well so much for the great dark sight and going unseen"
As he stands up and starts gathering his belongings, "Well we need to go help him, I don't know if he will make it out by himself"

DM Jester |

Off in the distance behind you, you hear the sound of a person crashing through the brush, it is distant but seems like it is coming your way
The creature that was behind Ormak is moving to the left and seems as if it is going to a position where it can better watch events unfold
Your chant ends as you walk next to Tessara and no response is received you are sure that he is too far away. Thoian bolts past you and heads off into the brush quickly disappearing from view.
You walk slowly from camp while Belneiros chants near you. You see Thoian bolt into the brush hurrying into the darkness. Giggles sitting upon your should turns to you and whispers, "Something stinks!! out here."
You take off into the brush in the general direction of Ormak, moving quickly through the dense underbrush you easily spy the creature Searos not to distant in front of you.
Oh yeah one more thing; Initiatives please.
