Hi, last session someone mentioned that you can use stealth if you have Blur or Displacement on.
I imagined a character walking toward a fort in middle of a day being unseen to watchers due to Blur spell as Blur gives concealment.
It sounded ridiculous so I said no way. But the rules lawyer in me decide to look it up.
And it seems by Raw this should work.
So I decided to come here and ask your opinion.
Maybe I missed something...
Blur provides concealment, displacement does not.
That being said, as GM, I don't think that blur should provide the concealment necessary for stealth regardless of how the RAW is interpreted. There are some times as GM when we have to put our thinking caps on and say "this is not how the rule was meant to be used and doesn't make sense so I'm going to apply some logic here."

This line from the PRD would stop it:
A creature can't use Stealth in an area of bright light unless it is invisible or has cover. Areas of bright light include outside in direct sunshine and inside the area of a daylight spell.
In bright light, like the middle of the day, concealment it not enough, you need cover or invisibility. In an area of dim lighting, I would allow blur to give you enough concealment for stealth.

I never noticed that line. I don't have a problem with someone blurred in dim light using Stealth. I can easily see that working. Thank you for pointing this out. Now I don't have to make a ruling, I can use the RAW. I hate making house rules.

I completely agree with you here Bob... Blur grants concealment, but only in so much as providing a miss chance. I wouldn't allow the Blur effect by itself allowing a Stealth check.
