Lawful Good Half-Orc Rouge. How can i make it work?

So an idea came to my mind when i was making a character and the idea of a lawful good orc rouge came to mind and my GM kinda wants me to try it but not if i dont feel up to it. I wanna do it. But how would i be able to use the class? I was thinking of playing it off as some detective style of solving problems. Well enough of my rambling. Any help would be appreciated.

Sure. Take the Investigator archetype from APG and there you go, Half-Orc Sherlock Holmes who knows his way around a blade. Make sure you pick a high Int for loads of skill points.

Silver Crusade

Detective
"Undercover cop"
Government spy/agent
Security/skill specialist for the government/church
Would-be cleric/paladin that couldn't quite cut it, but never gave up on his faith.
Orphan taken in by the government and/or church.
Reformed criminal out to make something good of his life.
Guy who actually came from a happy home and wishes to secure that kind of life for others.

Maybe believes in high ideals, though his outlook and approach could fall anywhere between idealistic and cynical. His heritage makes some avenues more difficult to go through, but also opens up many more. Serves as a role-model for other half-orcs if visible, or if he sticks to teh shadows, serves to prove his worth to the powers-that-be. Either way, he'd be working to better the lot of half-orcs.

"Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. The detective must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor. He talks as the man of his age talks, that is, with rude wit, a lively sense of the grotesque, a disgust for sham, and a contempt for pettiness." - Raymond Chandler

I would suggest playing up the 'retrieval specialist' version of a rogue. Rick Cook had some books about a programmer who figured out how to program in magic. In the book was a lawful rogue.

She was a specialist in retrieving dangerous magical items and seeing to their destruction, so that they were not a danger to the world anymore. Breaking into necromancer's tombs and disabling all the traps, magical and mundane, safely transporting cursed objects for destruction, and the like.

She worked for the Northern Council, and thus was lawful, in that she only retrieved things that were dangerous per Council Laws. Anything in the gray area, she didn't touch, that was not her job.

Batman :) The non paranoid version that the original artist had in mind that they are doing in the brave and the bold cartoon or in the superfriends cartoon of the 70's :) Robin :) James Bond perhaps

Batman isn't lawful, he quite happily break laws to serve his own idea of justice. I think he's NG personally, but that's a huge argument that goes on all the time.

James Bond, while closer, is more CG than anything else. He'll break his own countries rules just to **** around with his boss, especially the newer ones messing with the old lady boss.

However, Green Hornet might be a good example (he actually has authority to do what he does from the powers that be, and he's very scrupulous about letting the bad guys hang themselves by waiting until they betray him before he sends them to jail).

No I mean the Old 40's Batman, and Lawful Good can still do what Batman Does, in effect Superman is Lawful Good, especially from the 40's through the 70's and still breaks the law being a vigulantie and still destroys property. Batman only breaks and enters, and assaults, and does a little spying. In those early days Batman worked with the Police. Like the Hornet did.

But it dosnt matter either way, we are looking at the things Mikazi suggested for a Lawful Good Rogue :)

He grew up on a family farm, brought up by real salt of the earth types. He learned to be stealthy hunting with dad and playing with his friends. His favorite aunt is an expert locksmith and taught the children the craft during the winter. Your rogue’s got the adventure-bug and wants to use the combat skills he learned protecting the farm from beasts and plunderers to make the world a better (more LG) place.

Then he honed his skills with a LG Monk ;)
