I'm trying to calculate some things for my homebrew, specifically for NPCs. I have revised the player wealth table (Table 12-2 in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook), so now I'm curious; is the NPC Gear (Table 14-9) based off on a percentage of player wealth? If so, what is the percentage?
Also, how do I break down the percentages for NPC Total GP value into the following categories; Weapons, Protection, Magic, Limited Use and Gear?

Actually made a spreadsheet and took the category percentages off the NPC table and applied them to both PC wealth and to Shop limits in towns. It's not super hard, and you can use GoogleDocs if you don't have OpenOffice, MSOffice, or iWorks.
If you have a gmail account (me dorje.sylas@gmail.com) I'd be willing to help you and show you the basic formula. In short the categories are easy:
= VALUE of Weapon COLUMN / TOTAL at that LEVEL ; gives you the % for that column at that level.
I'll tell you the values are not static at each level the vary by a a few percent.
