Do you need to cast defensively to use this ability? It is a spell-like ability, so it follows all the rules of normal spells and it is range of touch. Does it provoke and AoO on use?

Spell-like abilities are just like spells, they do provoke attacks of AoO, they can be cast defensively, they can be disrupted.The only exception being but they cannot be counter spelled.

PS: I'm also pretty sure you could use your Laughing Touch and hold the charge, like with other touch spells.
