I wrote this, Should I get a Wayne A. Reynolds’ cover for NeoExodus or hire Monte Cook to write something for it…, in my blog a few weeks ago. Now I am looking for the answer for a pretty simple question: What would you like to see adventure wise from Monte Cook? What type of adventure do you think Monte Cook does best?

I like Monte's rules-smithing and campaigns the best. I thought he quit the gaming industry.

Man, I miss Planescape.

I love his work on planar settings. Plus since Paizo's materials have been mostly Golarion-bound some 3rd party work with a generic planar component would be very cool...

I would dearly love to see a continuation of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil that has the PCs trying to destroy the Orb of Oblivion. As RttToEE is written, the PCs put the elemental gems into the Orb of Silvery Death and destroy it, and the gems are then scattered to the elemental planes. I'd like to see a module that has them plane hopping to retrieve the gems and destroy the OoO (Orb of Oblivion :)).
It would need to be for 14th-17th level or so. My party was mostly 14th when we finished RttToEE.
I'm sure he wants to leave ToEE and RttToEE behind (I probably would if I were him!) but my players would KILL to finish that off. Unfortunately, I haven't found any pre-made modules that could be twisted and molded into what I need and I just don't have the time to be writing such a high-level module from scratch.

I think you want this...
And I'm not going to give it away, but there's this Orb in the adventure...just saying. It might be exactly what you want.

Thanks. I checked it out but it doesn't seem to be "elemental planar". So I'd still like to see a revisit to wrap up RttToEE.
I'll probably order it anyway as I can never seem to get enough background on planar stuff and it would be handy to have something ready for when my CotCT AP wraps up. We're already on book 6 of CotCT but maybe there's time to tie it in some how...

What I would not want to see would be some sprawling, multi-level epic adventure path on the order of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. I've had more than enough of that sort of thing. Instead, I'd be much more interested in a series loosely-if-at-all connected, shorter adventures featuring a nice mix of roleplaying and combat challenges.

Remember the old module, Dead Gods? It was Monte's tale of how Orcus came back and what he would do length-wise, how far he will go to be considered a real powerhouse again.
That more your style?

I buy anything planar. I buy anything from Monte Cook.
My current campaign started as a desire to run Infinite Staircase -> Modron March -> Dead Gods. They have since moved on to tackle Die Vecna Die and a Paladin in Hell. Next up is Coliseum Morpheuon, which I highly recommend. My personal preference would be something higher level (15-20).
The real trick is getting him interested in writing an adventure. He's got his own imprint if he really has the desire to do another adventure. So whatever he'd like to do I'd be interested in.
On the other hand, if you can't get Monte, I'd also buy anything planar from Todd "Great Beyond" Stewart. I hear he's always looking for freelance work.

I ran RttToEE and it was always TPK. Either the gnolls in the ring of the volcano would rally or the dragon would leave only one surviving member in the moat house.
But Dead Gods...
That was one fandamtastic module that should ever be allowed to see a fan-made reprint again. Oh the Glory!
And Infinite Staircase to the Coliseum would be fun to play. Thanks for again pimping that GC module, I will check it out.

RttToEE was really a way for Monte to use all of the creatures from the MM in a single "module". ;)
We changed quite a few of the rules when we played RttToEE in 3.5: Andy Collins' negative level from dying (now in PF), half-price components for raise dead and similar, a set of silence spells (1st, 2nd, and 3rd level, with appropriate abilities), max hp at first level and 75% hp at each additional level, and so on.
We had a total of 14 PC deaths, and I had to fudge the results once early on to prevent a TPK. But I'll never forget an old hermit warning a 4th-level party about a blue dragon taking up residence in an old moat house, to which there was great derision from the party. Then when they encountered the beast... They never took the rantings from "crazy old men" the same after that. ;)
I will have to check out Dead Gods, but I'm really looking for "elemental planar" and so far I haven't heard anything particularly about that one. :(
@deinol: Would you have any recommendations for "elemental planar"? I'm primarily interested in encounter areas and overall themes for the planes as I already have a plot for each of the four elements (search for the elemental power gems and retrieve them).
