Two-Weapon Fighting

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

With two-weapon fighting I was wondering if there is a limit to the types of weapons that can be used with certain feats.

Some Examples:

1. Can you use the Two-Weapon Defense feat using a sword and shield?

2. Can you use Two-Weapon Rend with a shield? Two Hammers?

3. Does Double Slice apply for a Shield Bash?

4. Does the Power Attack Feat apply to Two-Weapon Rending damage?

5. Is there ANY feat that allows you to use a both weapons when you try to charge?

That'll start it off, Fire away?

1. Yes but if you have improved shield bash it doesn't matter since your shield bonus is already going to be higher than what you get with two weapon defense.
2. Yes, just need two weapons.
3. Yes if used as an off hand attack*
4.
5. No, but there is an archtype in the APG.

So how about #4?

I would say that it would not apply to Two-Weapon Rend damage. The rend damage is not part of the original strikes with which you used Power Attack. It is an additional maneuver you do with the blades after the attack that doesn't require another attack roll (because it presumes the blades are already embedded in the flesh of your enemy). It's twisting the knife, as it were, or just doing additional damage in the process of ripping your blades out of their body (which begs the question, shouldn't serated blades like the Sawtooth Sabre do automatic rending damage, or is that just presumed to be the reason they do 1d8 instead of 1d6?)

As always, thank you everyone for the info!
