Just working on a few homebrew spells and wanting opinions on their effects and level. Comment away.
ENSLAVE PERSON
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 3, witch 3
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S
Range Close
Target One humanoid creature
Duration Concentration (up to one round per two levels)
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
Reaching out with your thoughts you seize control of the target creatures mind and force it to obey your mental commands. For as long as the spell persists you can control the actions as if it were subject to Dominate Person. You must maintain line of sight to the subject or the spell ends. The subject receives a saving throw each round to end the effect.
DESPAIR
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 1, witch 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M
Range Close
Target One creature
Duration 1 min./level
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
A feeling of despair causes great sadness in the subjects.
The affected creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving
throws, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls.
Despair is countered and dispelled by, but does not counter or dispel good hope.

Just wanted to get peoples feedback on whether these spells seem balanced.
CONFIDENCE
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 1, witch 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a ribbon or other token carried by the subject)
Range Close
Target One humanoid creature
Duration 10 min./level
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
With a touch you can fill the subject with confidence and determination when performing a specific task. While the spell persists the subject gains a +2 competency bonus to all checks for one skill chosen at the time of casting. For every 6 levels of the caster the bonus increases by one to a maximum of +5.
EERIE PRESENCE
School enchantment (charm) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 0, witch 0
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range Personal
Target you
Duration 1 minute
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
While this spell is active you invoke an uneasy response from those around you granting you a +2 circumstance bonus on all uses of the Intimidate skill. Further more the duration of any fear effect you cause while this spell is active is increased by one round.
ENTRANCEMENT
School enchantment (charm) [mind-affecting]; Level bard 0, sorcerer/wizard 0, witch 0
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V
Range Close
Target One humanoid creature
Duration 10 minutes
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
This spell causes the target to perceive you in a more favorable light. The subjects attitude towards the caster is improved one step (indifferent to friendly, friendly to helpful, etc…). If the creature is currently being threatened or attacked by you or your allies, however, it receives a +5 bonus on its saving throw. During the duration of the spell the caster’s action can shift the targets attitude further. Any act by you or your apparent allies that threatens the entranced
person breaks the spell.
Would a duration of 1 hour be excessive for Entrancement being a cantrip?

Let's see... IMO
Enslave person looks good. Doesn't ring any alarm bells.
Dispear (so delicious): As written no problem. but personally it's just another status affect. As a spell I think it might be more interesting if instead of the stock -2 it did something else. Perhaps a 20% chance each round the target is overcome with grief and takes no action that round. other wise they are free to act normally. or perhaps a movement reduction as they shuffle along wailing and sobbing. Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
Confidence looks good
Eerie Presence: IMO needs a save and SR
Entrancement: yeah 1 hour seems too long for 0 level. To be honest even 10 minutes does. 1 minute = 10 rounds for a cantrip seems about right.
Hope this helped

Despair: I was just shooting for a single target version of Crushing Despair. Debated doing a remake of Hideous Laughter called Song of Sorrow. Just because all the laughter and dancing enchantment/fey effects annoy me.
Eerie Presence: How would no save but SR check sound to you?
Entrancement: I know an hour seemed kind of long but Charm Person has a duration of 1 hour per level and moves the targets attitude all the way to friendly+ regardless of its starting level. I think 10 minutes is a good fit for a powered down version of Charm Person.
Thanks for you feedback

A Few more. Trying to expand upon the Enchantment School. Plan on working on Abjuration and Divination also just wanting to make the Weaker/Smaller Schools have more appeal.

Some secrets need to be kept, this spell insures that they will be for at least a short time. When this spell is cast the caster lays a compulsion upon the subject preventing him or her from revealing or conveying a specific piece of information. If the subject fails to resist this spell they will be unable to communicate a specific piece of information as dictated by the caster. They can neither speak, write, gesture or the like in anyway meant to reveal or convey the information so bound.
The information that can be bound by this spell must be specific regarding a specific person, place, item or situation. The subject could be bound to tell no one his name, like wise he could be bound not to reveal the location of a person place or item. Commonly this spell is used to prevent a subject from speaking of the casters presence or activities.
If a spell or effect compels the subject to speak he will speak but will avoid answering directly and will simple ramble. If an effect compels the subject to speak and compels the truth, the caster must succeed in a caster level check with a DC equal to 11+the level of the caster when the Binding the Tongue spell was cast.

MESMERIZE
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level bard 2,
sorcerer/wizard 2, witch 2
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target living creature
Duration concentration +1 round per level (D)
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
Your gestures and droning incantation fascinate a nearby creature, causing it to stop and stare blankly at you.
In addition, you can use its rapt attention to make your suggestions and requests seem more plausible. Only a creature that can see or hear you is affected, but they do not need to understand you to be fascinated. If you use this spell in combat, the target gains a +2 bonus on its saving throw. If the spell affects a creature not in combat at the time, the saving throw has a penalty of –2. While the subject is fascinated by this spell, it reacts as though it were two steps more friendly in attitude. This allows you to make a single request of the affected creature (provided you can communicate with it). The request must be brief and reasonable. Even after the spell ends, the creature retains its new attitude toward you, but only with respect to that particular request. A creature that fails its saving throw does not remember that you enspelled it.
RENOWN
School enchantment (charm) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 1, witch 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range Personal
Target You
Duration 10 minutes per level
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes
Those that view the subject of this spell will find themselves unusually impressed by the caster. This subtle aura causes those interacting with the caster to have a sense that she is important or notable in some unexplainable way. While this spell is in effect the caster receives a +2 circumstance bonus on all Charisma checks and all Charisma based skill checks.
SPLENDOR
School enchantment (charm) [mind-affecting]; Level bard 3, sorcerer/wizard 3, witch 3
Casting Time 1 round
Components V,S,F (a piece of jewelry worth at least 50gp)
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration 10 minutes per level
Saving Throw: Will (negates); Spell Resistance yes
While this spell is in effect the caster is shrouded in a subtle aura of grandeur. Those in her presence find the caster intriguing and may be spellbound by her charming smile or enchanting voice. The caster gains a +2 enhancement bonus to charisma. Furthermore all creatures with an intelligence of 3 or more, that are not hostile to the caster have their attitudes toward the caster improved by one step. There is no saving throw versus the initial effects of this spell though spell resistance does apply. Creatures that successfully resist the spell are not subject to the fascination effect.
For the duration of this spell the caster may fascinate any creature with an intelligence score of 3 or more simply by interacting with them, engaging them in conversation or by subtle yet noticeable gestures (winking, sideward glances and the like). The target receives a saving throw to resist this effect but once failed will remain fascinated as long as the caster focuses her attention on them. For every three caster levels an additional creature may be held in fascination at the same time as long as the caster continues to interact with all fascinated subjects. Once a creature successfully saves against the fascination effect, they are immune to further attempts to fascinate them through this casting of the spell.

i was just thinking about a spell just like this, but with a preseption filier "on top". 2 saving throws are needed, 1 to even preseve the caster, and the other to attack if "seen".
and make it a 3rd or 4th level...

Im working on a 4th level spell called "Veiled Presence" that is basically a compulsion to IGNORE ME! Then a higher level version 6th or 7th maybe higher that requires a saving throw each round you wish to take hostile action against the caster, Aura of Majesty.
