Silver Crusade

OK I am neading to use rope to make a basket in a game other than craft basket or something silly like that what skill would I use?

In 3.5 this would scream use rope, but in Pathfinder the skill doesnt exist.

Should I make a survival check?

Also what should the DC be?

Little help please.

I am leaning toward using craft(weaving) or craft(rope making). Since there can be used untrained, you can just make an int check.

LOL. Craft (macrame). No reason not to.

OK let me rephrase.

What skill other than a CRAFT Skill would you use?

Perhaps Sleight of Hand, for the use of manual dexterity, or Survival, for the use of various knots and rope uses in many situations?

No smartassery intended but:

If there is a perfect skill for what you are trying to do, then that is the skill you should use. You shouldn't seek out some other skill to do it.

If, for example, you chose not to take perception you don't get to pick a different skill to accomplish the task that perception does.

Similarly- in this case- there are skills related to using threads and ropes to craft a basket. If you are trying to use threads and ropes and such to make a basket then that is the appropriate roll. If you do not have that skill then you are extremely unlikely to get a very good basket. This is not an accident.

if I go and try to make a sword, having no idea how to, I'm not likely to just "figure it out' and make a sword.
