I'm curious about the new stuff, but haven't exactly felt intellectually up to processing all the Words of Power stuff and was never too keen on the Magus' shctick as something I'd especially enjoy playing.
However, I have wanted to play a 'heal-#####' oracle since the APG came out, so I'll gladly put myself forth for that slot. Seeing the other stuff in action from other players should be interesting.

So we have:
ZebulonXenos: Oracle (healer)
Jlighter: Wizard or Magus
Severed Ronin: Rogue or Magus
Those of you who have an "or" in his class (Jlighter and Severed Ronin), please choose one of them. You are the first coming, so you have the right to choose whatever you want.
And... come on! Players! Keep coming! 3 slots free!

This is the actual configuration of slots:
ZebulonXenos: Oracle (healer)
Jlighter: Magus
Severed Ronin: Rogue
Khamulio: Sorcerer
koridur_kingslayer: Magus
Calixymenthillian: Sorcerer
I need the confirmation of all the people listed above.
LazarX, if anyone listed above doesn't like his class and want's to quit, you will be the first to know.

I'm still around, though on further thought it might give more useful results if I play a Wizard rather than a Sorcerer, so that we can contrast the prepared/spontaneous casters*.
*On first glance, it seems to me that Sorcerers get much more out of the Words of Power than Wizards, but the only way to know for sure is to give them a try.

Khamulio: Sorcerer
LazarX: Magus
Calixymenthillian: Wizard
Koridur: thanks for your kindness.
LazarX: you have a magus slot!
Calixymenthillian: You are totally right. With you been a wizard, we will have a more complete testing. I thank you to change your initial decision.
Everybody is ok with this final configuration?

Just so I can get started, I'm assuming Elite Array and average Fighter starting gold. My character is done, pending official creation rules. But a couple of reference questions, just while you're deciding how character creation works.

ZebulonXenos |

I'm here, not that I have much to confirm (or competition, for that matter). I've done some fiddling and can probably have a finished sheet as soon as the actual parameters are up.
Actually, I may be later than that; it's about time to sleep and tomorrow's Thanksgiving. That'll make Friday the likely fully-fleshed day, though I might be able to get something done in the morning.

![]() |

Okay, maybe I won't go straight for a human. Depends on the character creation rules I suppose. I am throwing up everything else and have a character sheet nearly ready. Leaving off a few things just because I'm standing by for the creation rules.
J, you always bring up the things that make me want to rethink my concepts. As a fellow GM, it annoys me a bit - in a good way though.

![]() |

I can't help it if I like to know exactly what tools I have to work with. But yes, I am a pest sometimes. :)
And it's interesting that you say that. I'm looking at a fairly mundane Half-Orc at the moment. I think I only have one thing aside from the class that isn't from Core, and that's just a swapped racial ability from APG.

![]() |

Honestly, I think I'm going to hold off on a bit more of my rogue's descriptor's until I know what else I'm dealing with.
Besides character creation, what sort of campaign are we running? That all determines whether I'm a rugged Trapsmith, graceful Acrobat, or daring Swashbuckler.
By the way, I'm awesome. Tell your friends.

![]() |

Ok, character creation: think that you are creating a lvl 1 Pathfinder Society character (included gold, and traits). The only things that change is:
-the starting points is 25 instead of 20.
-the crafting feats and class features are available.
Any more questions?
You can send the sheet to ravenath@gmail.com.

![]() |

I understand the Pathfinder Society w/ 25-Point Buy aspect of things, but some of the questions still bog in my mind.
1) What sort of campaign can we expect? Adventure path or homebrew?
2) What books are we allowed to draw material from? APG? Core?
3) Are we allowed to use archetypes and/or alternate racial traits?
4) What races are we allowed to use other than Core? (Tiefling, Aasimar, Drow, etc.)
Those are the only questions I can think of. I apologize if I'm making this more complicated than it should be, but I've never dealt with Pathfinder Society before, so I'm unaware of how they operate.

Turns out the faction trait thing has either been changed since I last dealt with it (jeez, that was over a year ago now...) or was imagined in the first place.
Anyway, in the interest of helping out, below is a list of stuff from the APG that's not allowed. Presumably everything else is fair game for this game. The only races in PFS are the Core races, so nothing from the Bestiary (or anything else for that matter).
Craftsman alternate Dwarven racial trait, Practicality alternate Halfling
racial trait, Heart of the Fields alternate Human racial trait, Alchemist’s
Brew Potion class ability (he receives Extra Bombs instead as a Bonus Feat),
Cavalier’s Expert Trainer class ability (he receives Skill Focus [Handle
Animal] instead as a Bonus Feat), Witch’s Cauldron hex, Antipaladin
Alternate Class, Cooperative Crafting feat, all of the Cursed magic items
and artifacts, the Hero Point new rule and associated feats, spells, and
magic items, the Hedge Magician, Magical Knack, Natural Born Leader,
and Rich Parents traits, and all of the Campaign Traits.
The vast majority of those just happen to be crafting related.
here's a link to my charsheet. I'm still going over a few final details (traits, making sure I don't have random incorrect math because I waffled between curses), but it's largely complete.

Severed Ronin, your answers:
1) What sort of campaign can we expect? Adventure path or homebrew?
1- Gamemastery module.
2) What books are we allowed to draw material from? APG? Core?
2- Core and AGP.
Are we allowed to use archetypes and/or alternate racial traits?
3- Yes, no problem as long as they are in the Core and AGP.
What races are we allowed to use other than Core? (Tiefling, Aasimar, Drow, etc.)
4- No problem, but evil alignments aren't allowed.

8 (max hit dice) + 3 (constitution) + 3 (toughness) + 1 (favored class). I've noted which favored class bonus I chose in the notes at the bottom now, if that's what threw you off.
If it's Toughness that threw you off, it's +3 (for backwards compatibility), +1 HP per hit die beyond the third.

Here's the rough-cut of jlighter's character. I may spend some of my remaining gold, but it's not much, and it would only be on additional basic supplies. I also need to finish the background, but that will come when I have more than a few minutes. Still, this should be more or less play-ready.
-Edit-
I will also change the avatar when I can find a better Half-Orc avatar. They really don't have many. :(

![]() |

Sorry to do this, but I have to bow out. My son is sick and priorities are a bit higher for him than the Interweb. I'll be following the thread closely and hopefully will be able to play alongside my GM as two PCs some other time. Jlighter, I'll try to keep up posting but feel free to abduct him into GM puppetry if I miss out for too long.

(this is an alias of Zebulon's just fyi)
I'm actually in the process of making a half-orc character for another game here and I was thinking the same thing. This is the one I settled on, though it leans rather heavily towards the 'human' end of the ancestry.
I took notes of what page a couple were on (this has probably changed due to usage but eh). I think the one I used was on 31, there was one with a bandana and an earring on 33. I didn't note the rest because the art wasn't what I wanted, but most of them were on the very low end of the usage scale. Dunno if that helps, but can't hurt to share.
Incidentally, there seems to be a lack of redheaded women (maybe I just wasn't looking closely enough), so this is what I settled on for my character for this game.

Great!
Let's review the characters state:
ZebulonXenos: Oracle (healer) - COMPLETED
Jlighter: Magus - COMPLETED
Severed Ronin: Rogue - VACANT
Khamulio: Sorcerer - CREATING
LazarX: Magus - CREATING
Calixymenthillian: Wizard - COMPLETED
Is this correct?
Khamulio and LazarX: come on! ^_^
And, if anybody knows a player to use a rogue... please, introduce him/her to the game.

I presume we'll get an opening spiel from whichever module Ravenath is using when he's ready.
If we're looking for party history, I can throw out what little background I've been thinking of and we can start working something out.
That said, Elora's background basically consists of her traits (she was rough-housed as a child, and had a mentor (probably a priest of Sarenrae or Cayden Cailean). In fact, I imagine she was an orphan child in some decently-sized city and that's how she wound up in the church. (I'm aware oracles aren't as god-tied as clerics, but that's the spin I wanted).
As far as adventuring goes, I'm not quite sure what her motivation would be ('healing people' would probably look towards more the diseased/needy than the suicidal fortune-seekers). I'm debating between doe-eyed, naive, thinking-she-could-change-the-world, and plain ol' adrenaline junkie. Perhaps a mix of those. Heck, in fact, this would probably be a good reason to have some part history - she's there because she's with (other character).

I've been holding back on developing Isaiah's background until we know a little more about how the game is going to start.
Beyond the idea he is a member of house Ferstwaine of Taldor, and is traveling the 'lesser nations' in order to document their 'quaint customs'.
As far as interlinking our histories, Halor mentions being a noble bastard, perhaps our characters could be half-brothers?

![]() |

Unfortunately, wrong part of the world for us to be brothers, Sir Isaiah. Halor is a bastard son of the House of Shiman in Shiman-Sekh, the last bastion of civilization before the deep desert in Osirion. Unless you've got some noble cousins out there?
-Edit-
New avatar seems to fit the idea for a desert-dweller, and it has green skin. :)

This is the actual situation:
ZebulonXenos: Oracle (healer) - COMPLETED
Jlighter: Magus - COMPLETED
Me'Mori: Rogue - COMPLETED
Khamulio: Sorcerer - COMPLETED
LazarX: Magus - CREATING
Calixymenthillian: Wizard - COMPLETED
And, about the setting, I'm thinking in running one of these modules:
-Hangman's noose
-Into the haunted forest
-Hollow's last hope
Vote it, please :D
