Since it's apparently okay to post a thread asking to raise money for one hate group (the Boy Scouts), I'm wondering about other hate groups?
What other hate groups are raising money?
Are the kiddies for the Ku Klux Klan doing a car wash?
Is Mecha doing a marathon race?
I noticed that Paizo deleted the other thread which pointed out the hate mongering of the BSA. Are they defending them?

OK I'll jump into this thread with both feet here and as a very out and proud gay male defend the boy scouts.
I joined for two weeks when I was a kid because they invited me to go along on a fishing trip, cool huh.
Well after two weeks I realised it wasn't for me so I told them so and they didn't seem to mind one way or the other.
The scouts are not a hate group. IMO<-- please note--> they are a fine organiation that is wheathering a very powerful storm of political correctness against their christian ideals.
I do respect them for that.
They teach patriotism, citizenship and gives the guys a moral guide to go by. For some of the kids it's also a place where the much needed male father type figure is found.
I am not saying every male child should be forced to join the scouts but if the parents want to let their children join a clearly christian organization and the kids learn valuable life skills then whats the harm?

They do foster a culture of intolerance. Yes it is a clearly christian organization, so I don't mind the atheist hate so much, but what about love thy neighbor and all that BS? They can give whatever excuse they want, but the fact remains: the BSA discriminates against homosexuals. They have an official policy that prevents gays from joining or having a position of leadership. This teaches children early in life that it's OK to discriminate against people that are different from them. That is the worst thing that any person can do to a child (short of the obvious other things). That kind of intolerance has no place in today's society, but we allow it to continue. Why?

Why is it hate in order to want to gather with those of like mind that want to share your beliefs?
I guess I should be upfront i'm my belief that "some" of the forced togetherness is getting out of hand. Please do NOT take that statement to an extreme in reguards to afirmative action but I am thinking more along the lines of a fraternity being forced to allow women or places like the curves fitness or for the chain for women only fitness centers being forced to allow men. When did mandatory togetherness become law?
As far as the official policy that discriminates against gays thats simply a reflection of the old testement biblical standards. I do not agree with it but if some one wants to believe that way why can't they?
Are you going to force the amish to learn to drive or the muslim women to remove their traditional dress style? Why pick on the scouts? Pound for pound thye teach more good than bad and they also do teach tolerance.
